Lol, have you tried opening the basic Facebook on a browser? See how it crops the pictures and all? And I did not say the buttons are for data consumption purposes, rather I was speaking of the "low data mode" toggle. The functions that these buttons call are not available in the basic mode. So your call to action sends them on an errand, they roam the page in search of the expected function, nothing is found and so they return nothing, hence the page is refreshed with nothing new to show.

And for the records, there have been similar contributions, all saying the buttons do not work. I simply asked them to untoggle "low data mode" option and then it worked.

The only difference with your contribution is- you actually know that for this buttons to work, the "low data mode" option has to be ticked off. This you already know, but you still reported it as a bug.

I believe its just a mere assumption, when you say "I know". What I know is the said features only work when low data is toggled off, but I didnt think that was the intended behaviour. Like I did mention, these are shortcuts. I believe they have to be functional everywhere, and when you say the functions to be called do not exist, I wonder if it is impossible to make a post or post a photo in basic mode from your end, because those functions work here.
