Greetings Steemit! I'm taking the dive into blockchain socials. Love it already!
After a growing discontentment and frustration with the mainstream social media platforms over the last few months, I've decided to finally go for it and embrace the blockchain socials. I love it! It's new, it's fresh, and it feels like something actually worth investing in and using. I'm the first of my group of friends and peers to make the switch, but I strongly believe sites like this are the future moving forward.
Sure, some of it is still a learning curve for me. But I'm more than happy to wander around, get to know the community, and learn the ropes while I wait for my peers to make the jump as well.

As for me, I'm a husband, graphic designer, a frequent flier to Iceland, and a one of those constantly overthinking stoically creative types. I'm a lover of fantasy (especially Elder Scrolls), debate, and theology. As for what I'll be posting, I have no clue. Maybe I'll hone in on specific topics, maybe I'll be all over the place. I eventually want to get into DTube, but not sure with what sort of content yet. We'll see what happens!

Welcome to Steemit! Hopefully it can re-awaken some early facebook days nostalgia. I like being able to click on the new content button and find random posts from all over the world. The internet is an international community, so let's stop creating algorithms that restrict to country zones. Also, our participation is worth money, without it social mediums die. Recognising this is one of the first steps to self empowerment on a social media platform.
I come from a history or activism and I have activist friends on facebook, they still use the damn shit. But one day, we can hope, people will put their internet use where their mouth is and assist in creating an equal internet where creativity reigns and free speech is king.
