The future of the Steemit

Hello my dear Steemians,

Somehow I have no real inspiration recently and no motivation instead of being very positive and energetic who loves to do a lot on Steemit blockchain, I noticed that this all adrenaline filled me slowly went into Stand-by. On the top of everything the works takes majority of time and after work I am actually completely drained.

Couple of weeks ago at least it was a trend for Crypto to go up and we all thought that now it is the time and we slowly recover the strength of SBD and Steem but now we are back where we were: like one step forward and two steps back.

Looking at the charts: just 5 days ago we had the Value of Steem 0,26$ but today back to 0,23$ the same with SBD, it has lost what it gained. Sometimes I ask myself was it worth to spend so much time the last 5 years on Steem and to work hard initially to stay here, who knows. We will see.

The Steemit is now not like it used to be everyone in their own community, people do not visit other communities and only stick to those who comply with he rules of Steemit Team.Is that place that we wanted to build? I am not sure.

The future of steemit/steem is dependent on something new happening that brings new investors here. There are still investors/traders who keep the value of steem up even though it is low in price. If they eventually decide to sell out with their steem/sbd they have on the exchanges to invest in other cryptos, it will end badly for steem/sbd and steemit.

It's great that steemit is increasing in number of users, but it's only some % of those who buy some steem, most of them sell their rewards.
Steemit.inc promised new things to come in early 2022 that would give the platform a boost. Nothing has happened.
We witnesses were there at the time and submitted many suggestions to steemit.inc and it is sad that we do not see any progress.

Sometimes I also think to myself about all the time and energy I have spent on this platform for 6 years and I have fought many battles here but am still here.

We'll see what the future holds, but it won't work if everyone only thinks about withdrawing their daily profits. Steemit users need to think about the future of our beloved platform

In general a lot depends on the the bosses who rule the Steemit, it was bought but what was the goal for Justin to buy it?

Definitely, he did not do anything with platform. He is himself posted only one or two posts initially and we have never seen him and the Projects that are running, there are still the same like they were at the very beginning. Few people stayed here from beginning of new era and we all you say correctly fought for Steemit and supported those users who did not move to Hive and also we ourselves in Blacklist and can't do anything in Hive. To tell the truth I did not think that Hive will progress so well, but the problem is they have many developers, creators and many users who are there believe in Hive and its future. Despite of hard time they broke through and now this is a time when they have over 2 Mio users and Steemit only around 1 and a bit Mio

I am here because of all my friends, but who knows maybe we will find a new house when Koinos will start up :)

Dear @stef1,

I think the biggest challenge we face here is that there is very little new happening here, in the development sense. So there's little to be excited about as an existing user, and subsequently not much to be excited about as something we'd want to go OUT and tell the external world about.

And yes, you're also quite right that people tend to get "stuck" in their own communities... and people only join communities that already have big memberships, rather than joining communities that actually cater to their interests.

Sadly, the stagnant situation with new development reminds me ever so much of Steemit circa 2018 when people were also complaining that everything was tired looking, and nothing new was coming down from "management."

So yes, it's not easy to remain enthusiastic and inspired...

It is a shame that in order to make people to go around and comment others, such Challenges like Engagement challenge is created and people do write not because they like but because they get Upvote and be seen. That makes me feel sick.

The developer is the person who does write a program because he likes it and enjoys it but not because then he can receive a better Upvote from SC01. Everything on this platform is for SC01.

Where are people who do something because they like it and the comments because people like the posts. There is a huge difference between Steemit and Hive and I do not like to say that but Hive is much better.

Team.Is that place that we wanted to build? I am not sure.

Im on your team! 😊

Thank you, I am glad to hear that :)

Yes, I'm with you, I don't like how steem is going now, i also see little support for small users, some dolphines and orcas aren't writing anymore and some are even powering down and leaving the platform.
We had a rise last year when they added Tron gains , and that was an excellent idea, but now there has to be something new, steem as a coin is in position #268 and I don't see any solutions.

I remember the time when the price of Steem was a bit higher last year and also when we have some SBD that usually pushed the Steem up and also motivated people. Now, nothing is happening even Tron sometimes appears and sometimes not, nobody knows how it i calculated. Despite of that Tron is on Rank 16. Why? what is better on Tron in compare to Steem?.I still think that Justin should mention Steem more often when he is somewhere or even in his social media. He is the best promoter. Like in the case with Dogecoin, it was enough for Elon just to post a photo of a dog the price of coin went up.

Only such celebrity promoter can bring masses and not the developing countries, even Hive is Rank #126. We slowly started to concentrate on "Koinos" hope that will be successful and will have such social media platform.

Stef it is unfortunate that there is no reconsideration on the current guidelines and an attempt is made to resurrect the platform and bring it back to where it once was.
You know you can flourish anywhere, you have many virtues to make it happen. Blessings!

Bendiciones!

It is bad that everything and everyone are under the Steemit Control and it is funny to see how people are changed, initially Powering up because the Steemit Team was supporting it and now burning Steem, because the Steemit Team supporting it. People stopped being creative.

Abbiamo avuto spesso momenti difficili come piattaforma. Adesso poi anche tutte le atre cripto sono in difficoltà.
Io non sarei pessimista...chissà. Comunque è sempre un luogo che mi piace frequentare . E' sempre uno stimolo...

Thank you @sardrt, you are such positive personality and I always felt better after chatting to you. I am glad that you and Italian Community is there, but in general I hoped that there will be a strong European Team or also American. So that more people from Western world will be. But the Western people never will play such game like engagement challenge and so on, the same with diary posts, not many western users took part. I hope that Steemit remains and also I really hope that the Price for Steem will go up, at least to the level of Hive, but unfortunately, I doubt that will happen.

I feel you @stef1. Price of steem matters. One of the reasons it was so high in the first place, especially in the short-term, is because there was an abundance of credit. And the Federal Reserve took that away.

But that will return. We will be in an expanding credit environment again probably in a couple of years when inflation comes down. And steemit will be much bigger by then (more users), and then people will make a lot more money, in dollar terms.

Plus, the steem payout today is the same, it's just the dollar equivalent is not. So that's a bad thing in a credit contracting environment, but a good thing in a credit expanding environment… because when credit expands, prices go up...all things being equal. So the steem that we earn today, and accumulate in our accounts, will not be set at that dollar equivalent amount in 2 to 3 years, our accounts will grow relative to the amount of credit and money in the system, and that will always increase over time.

So I am very optimistic for the future...it just sucks now :)

P.S.
As for the development side of things that I read in one of your comments, I feel you on that too...hive is doing some good things…and steemit is…well…needs to do better. I try to be an optimistic person. And I like both platforms. I hope steemit improves in that area.

I really hope that this will happen and I want to believe with all my heart. We have not only spent time here, but we lived here, we have our friends, who I never met before but I know many of you already better than my own neighbors. I am really missing the time of old Steem and how it was before, feels like it will never be so good. Even on Hive they will never be able to recreate what it was before. It is good, better supported by Curation and developers but its different. It is almost like when the children growing up and everything then look different.

Maybe it is simply we are grown up and need something need, maybe we need to leave this nest for better place. Of course, currently there will be no changes to us and our account and we will likely keep going but nobody knows what happens in near future.

I appreciate you @fijimermaid for sharing your thoughts and it was always a pleasure to read your thoughts.

Dear Stef1,
it is as you describe it - but your graphs are not quite fair. In my opinion.

To show the real proportions the graphs would have their x-axis placed to the 0-point of the y-axis. Otherwise the changes look more dramatical as they are. (They are not negligible, that's not what I want to say - but I feel in this view they are not realistic.)

Best regards! Please don't let me be misunderstood!
;-)

Hi @ty-ty, thank you for your feedback, yes maybe it will look less dramatic, but in general the whole: situation is not really better from it. We are stuck in limbo for more than a year, the Price of below:
$0.30 is not really something that we have to cheer up.

In general there is no future plans that the Steemit Team has, it just let's it go as it was going for last 3 years. Even if I do not want but again and again I compare it to Hive and seeing how much is going on there makes me sad and it hurts to see how much could be done on Steemit because both platforms are identical. Even to get something where people could upload videos, like in the past Dtube and nowadays plenty of apps for videos on Hive and none on Steem.
