If We Only Live Once... Health Questions I Don't Know The Answers To
Why do some people...
- Routinely ingest or do things that guarantee serious health problems, cancer, and/or a shorter lifespan?
- Disrespect and harm their bodies when it's one of their most valuable assets?
- Seek answers and pleasures from ineffective external sources, instead of from within?
- Trade passions and the best years of their lives for unfulfilling careers, or simply the fear of trying?
- Spend more time escaping reality then being in it?
- Feel smarter and more civilized for using apps/tech crutches that actually makes them more dependent and less functional?
- Believe medicine means reactively popping pills to treat symptoms, while ignoring or mocking proven natural remedies that work with our body's chemistry?
- Ignore the proactive health benefits of proper hydration, diet, exercise and stress reduction?
- Avoid or disregard things they know will make them happier and more satisfied?
- Eat processed foods with chemicals and artificial ingredients our bodies clearly can't digest?
- Put chemicals on their skin, our largest organ, which is highly absorbent?
- Think supplements, surgery and treatments are viable long-term solutions to compensate for bad habits, being lazy, insecure, and/or unhealthy?
- Think photoshopping themselves means they're more attractive and desirable?
- Ignore or project their mental or emotional health, or lack thereof?
It feels that many people are on the wrong track these days and raising another generation to do the same. Maybe I just loathe certain parts of Western culture.
Anyway, just wondering/ranting as these things simply don't make sense to me. Back to doing my shoulder presses and then out to salvage recycling.
My last post about generating Steem from salvaged recycling.
There are many things to talk about in response to your questions. I don't want to be viewed as defending everything here, but here are some answers to these questions:

Psychology is an interesting topic. IMO, there are "nature" and "nurture" components as to why we are the way we are. Remember that people have all of this background information that makes them think and act the way they do. I think having an understanding of why people act the way they do can help understand who we are as a person and hopefully some people along the way
This was a great well-balanced answer. Well done.
Some of those things describe me. :(

If I knew the answer i'd tell ya!
It's good to think about though.. Thanks for bringing it up.
Some of them in moderation is ok, the others, people are conned by the game at this point. Lots of the stuff is also incredibly addicting and lots don’t realize it.
I'm a couple of those things and I'm not even working on it. I'm just living life and just trying to be happy knowing that irrespective of how I choose to live, I'll still die anyways.
Other than the fact that I nearly died a few times in my life, I'm motivated to live (including dangerously sometimes) when I remember the story of how an aeroplane crashed into a building and killed residents in it, as well as passengers. I'm going to accumulate as many awesome moments as I can and my only principle or limitation if you may, is that I'm not hurting anyone BUT me(alcohol mostly and a little bit of weed but that's REALLY seldom)
