Ulog: Saturdays are for Environmental Sanitation.
It is our duty to ensure that we keep our natural environment clean and green because health does not just come from what we eat, but the serenity of the environment we live is a contributory factor to our health status. Leaving in a polluted environment has numerous negative effects which are detrimental to our overall wellbeing. Due to this, the Nigerian government set out every last Saturdays of each month as national environmental sanitation for every individuals, both citizens and none citizens living in the country.
But do we really have to wait till the last Saturday of the month? The answer is a ‘NO’ that’s why we chose to help in cleaning our environment on a common Saturday.
Today, I and my colleagues decided to clean and help pack the dirt in our street. After that, we moved to a nearby primary school where we helped tidy the school environment, cut the grass, repaint the blackboard and add some fine touch to some of the structures in the school compound. We went to the location with cutlass, wheelbarrow, shovel, broom, parker and other housework materials. We did not just work for the sake of working, we worked with great joy knowing that the change we need, starts with us.
Join me in keeping the environment clean and green…
Let’s save our environment today…
