Rebekah at the Well
I believe this to be my namesake. It is a tradition for some families to name their children using names out of the Bible. This is the Biblical character my Mother used to name me, although she chose a more traditional spelling.

The bronze statue: Rebekah at the Well
Artist: David R Young 2005
Location: Sunken Gardens
Photography by me all original taken August 2018
Originally there was a cement statute from the 1930's and due to vandalism it was replaced in 2005 with David R Young's work. If you look closely you can see a few chips on her face. Why people vandalize art is beyond my comprehension.
For the few that appreciate abstract elements, I will continue to post abstract work in @photobe.

Nice detail in the photos.
thank you :)
Beautiful photos! 😍
thank you
It is a gorgeous piece of artwork and you are right, I don't understand people who feel the need to destroy artwork by vandalizing it. It used to be a tradition to name children after biblical characters, the names of saints or elder family members ie grandparents. The photos are beautiful.
I am old...lol
tradition for generations..
looks like a nice piece of art surrounded by nature! I'm curious of the symbolism. What is the pour feeding into?
Intriguing @rebeccabe
A small waterfall ... hmmm.. now you got me to think I will have to back out and look. I am totally into symbolism. It surrounds us, most are obvious to it. Beautiful place the Sunken Gardens. Flowers, koi fish, trees. Vibration is wonderful. Thanks for your comment.
fooled me for a second, there's a sunken gardens in my area here in Florida....Nebraska right?
That is right. Florida, which part?
I'm just north of Tampa, but Sunken Gardens is across the bay from me in St. Pete.
My mother in law has a place in Fargo not far from Tampa.
I really liked visiting Savador Dali's museum in St. Pete. Have you been there?
Absolutely, one of my favorite artists...have a few prints hanging in my house!

Thanks, @joelai good to hear. I did post numerous photos. People seem to like that.
Because it's good my dear!
thank you :)
I also don't innerstand why people vandalize art..it's sad. These are very beautyfull photos @rebeccabe. It's also very sweet to share the personal connection. My mother was going to originally name me after one of her favortie characters from a soap opera lol then my Grandfather suggested the name April...thankfully she went for it :) heheh
Much Love as always!
