THL Members Announcement.....The Homestead Life
Hello and welcome to the Homestead life communities first member announcement post.
Before I get started I would like to say that the launch of the community has been delayed due to me getting quite sick with the flu and as I am a home dad, I have been taking care of 2 of my 4 kids, that have also come down with the flu. So if you could forgive me for the delay I would appreciate that greatly.
I have been preparing as many people and information as i have had the time to do , and was waiting to include them all in this post.
As you may be aware there are many things that go into creating a community, none being more important than the management structure. I am just an average guy and I require help to actually run the community. I have been looking for the right people that will assist all members of the community, in the areas that are directly applicable to the whole community. Now that some members have taken the challenge of helping to create the community and contribute effort to strengthen it, as well and expanding it, we now have the opportunity to establish a healthy and vibrant community.
So without further ado, I will announce our first community leader.
@Nedspeaks, Ned is a true professional in his conduct as well as his real world profession. Ned is a Pulmonary, Internal Medicine and a Critical care specialist.
@Nedspeaks The homestead Life Community's FIRST Mayor .
Congratulations Ned, we are all very lucky, to have such a kind and professional person like yourself to be our new Mayor.
For further information on Ned you can go to his Introduction post here.
As you would expect, the position of Mayor has many duties, primarily of which will be the coordination and development of our fledgling community. This is a big job and comes with a lot of responsibility, so please show Ned respect and patience when seeking Ned's assistance. Ned is a highly intelligent and proficient person, that takes his position seriously and humbly.
At this point in the community we are still small, so the management positions within the community are few. As we expand, we will be needing other members to step up and take on the task of a community leader.
Now, you all know me, and if you're unsure what my name is' i'm Graham. I am the creator of The homestead life community, and my position is the Founder. My introduction post is here
My duties as the Founder are to continue to grow the community as well as ensure that you all have the help that you need and a fair share of the activities within the community. I will also be assisting Ned in coordinating the community, and will be checking that you, our valued members, are not being taken advantage of by vote hunters, that only join our community to take you votes and give nothing in return. I did not place myself as the Mayor because that position needs to be filled by the person that is best suited to the job. @Nedspeaks is that person. I continue to be grateful for all of you becoming members, and I am humbled by the kindness and amazing abilities that you all have.
This is the list of our members.

Now for some news.
All of you have many and varied skills, as i became aware of as you joined the community. If you would like to have a leader position, all you need to do is ask and explain what it is you would like to contribute. The aim is to have all members as leaders in the skill that you possess, so there is endless opportunity to expand and increase you skills. If you think of our community like a small town, a town needs all kinds and types of people with skills. as I mentioned in the application post, you don't have to be a homesteader.
Imagine a town that only had farmers in it.
Who would be the doctor, shop keeper, blacksmith, gunsmith, scientist, chemist, baker, builder, it specialist, accountant, marketer, news paper, developer, psychologist, bucher, potter, clothes maker, barber, photographer, astronomer, physicist, explorer, entertainer and the list goes on and on. We need them ALL, and more, to build a vibrant, diversified and healthy community.
In the THL News bulletin, you will be able to advertise your skill, business or profession, so all members can benefit from the services you provide. You can even advertise your old car if you like. There will be classifieds, news, announcements, competitions, awards, product advertisements, jobs, sport, weather and all the thing you would expect to find in a newspaper, ALL, supplied by and for members. The news bulletin will be full of the content that you wish to place in it.
The community is you, if you add to the community, the community will grow, just like a town.
A special thanks to these members for their assistance to me, in helping with my learning curve on steemit. @Barrydutton and @Farmstead

Oh gosh, I don't know why anyone adores me, but I appreciate it!! Straight off I am in a bit of a situation. My wonderful cat has a very bad eye infection in his good eye, he is blind in the other, so unfortunately, I am going to be missing the next couple of days from posting as I need to take care of him. But I do hope to be back on Monday or Tuesday at the latest. So, here is a friendly reminder to not only up vote this post but re-steem it to help get the word out. I'll try to check in if time allow and will be back as soon as I can. Great job on this post Graham!! I look forward to getting to know our new Mayor!!
All good Alice, you get your little mate fixed up , we can hold the fort down until you're back in action : o) You going to like Ned, he's a very nice guy.

Thank you Sweetheart ; o)
Hey guys this is @nedspeaks.
I was drawn to the idea of building a very active community in the fashion of a real town. In this place we shall strive to help each other in every which way possible. I must ask for a short hiatus. I am travelling outside the US for 2 weeks. I will continue to work on the project and hope to have access to the Internet.
I will start following you one by one . I might be interesting that each and everyone of you write a post with the tag THL describing yourself, your interests, your expertise and how you plan to be a productive part of this community. I know some of you have done that already and some have not. I am lacking as well but I intend to do that tonight.
Many thanks to our founder @thehomesteadlife for the opportunities that this may bring us.
Hey, I'm looking to join #THL. Can you point me in how to do so? Thanks!
Sorry for any delay.
Welcome to THL.

Follow the rules of this post. For a members list and further information check this post.
https://steemit.com/thl/@thehomesteadlife/thl-community-member-update-1

Graham should be back shortly and will reply to anyone interested in joining. You will be notified as soon as that process is completed when Graham next logs in. Thanks from THL---- @saved4newlife
Followed you from thl
Im here brother and ready to do what I need to ..I am supper busy like everyone here, no doubt, but lets get this party hopping! and do all I can to help!
Sounds good brother. As long as everyone goes to the THL tag page and upvotes each other, we will make a good start. Putting all our posts in one place makes it very easy for everyone to see all the posts in one click, and use that recharged steem power before we go depleting it elsewhere.
I am considering ideas how to get great THL posts to be taken farther. If we all get this thing going under Fletcher's guidance then I think we oughta be able to place posts in the promoted section. Let's think about this. Minor investment. If we plan it right we can do well.
Something to look at for sure, members will need to take a vote on it. As we would need donations from them all to do it.
Would cost a lot to get the post high enough on the list to be noticed though. 300 mite get it on the 2nd or 3dr page
