Hey My Fellow Ladies and Gents Steemians,

I have share here before 5 reason why meetup is important. Please check the here. Today i would like to share another angle on why its important to connects Steemians around the world.

1. Open Your International Mind

When we engage steemians outside of your country, it will give a different taste and perspective towards our journey in Steemit. It is also give deeper understanding towards the platform, sometime our (individually) mind will succumb to certain level of knowledge in steemit, however when we move around for meet up’s, connecting steemian around the world, it Give us a better understanding. Even though, there is no right or wrong in steemit (unless begging for upvote), it is still a better learn from other steemian outside of your comfort zone.

What i Do?
In discord, we connect international groups, such the #dolphinschool, #whalesgroup and many more . I think i have about 7-9 groups now which i believe other steemians has more actually.

I also try my very best to attend meet up’s organized locally and internationally as face to face interactions always give better personal understanding towards the group.

2. Boost Your Confidence

When we started in Steemit, we have not much followers, community doesn’t know us, steemit seems boring, low or even no upvotes (only your self upvote) Lol. These factors always make people lose confidence and stop writing in Steemit.

Always and Always been said key to success in Steemit is to engagement and write quality good content thus having said that we should follow to be better.

Therefore by connecting international steemians around the world, its like building your own business internationally. I see it that way. Business in steemit way not a decentralized way. This way, our confidence level will be boost up, we can speak more profound, we can talk at the same level of steemit (as we learn) or we listen when we need to listen from earlier joined steemians.

3. Improve Language Either in Writing or Speaking

You see guys, i come from Sabah. Sabah is different from other big cities. A 40min drive out of the city, we will have bad reception or even no internet reception and some of our Sabah Steemians stays there. Even my roots are from there, we called it the village. I am lucky to be born Mix, dad is chinese , mom is kadazan and i speak both languages fluently, this help eventually when we reach out to fellow steemians in the sub-rural area as i speak kadazan and bit of dusun.

When @papanog, @wilsonkoh, @danieldoughty and myself gather for drinks. We always talk about how to reach out to fellow sub-urban steemians. The challengers we face, how to reach out to them for bootcamps, masterclass and meet ups. Imagine it now the task of mountain we have to go thru, but we never complain because community building comes from the heart.

So by saying this, by connecting International Steemians will boost the confidence in writing and speaking.
My English writing has always been very bad, as you can see and read here, my present and past tense is always messed up but i am improving actually gradually.

Last friday we had the opportunity to meet a spaniard steemian @the-alien and dutch steemian @budgetbucketlist in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia.
