서울대 의대 박규주 교수는 대장암 선생님입니다.
환자에게 호통치는 분으로 소문났지만 그의 진심을 알기에 그에게 수술 받은 환자들은 모두 고마워합니다. 10%라도 살 가능성이 있으면 수술을 합니다. 밤 늦게 까지, 휴일에도 출근해서 환자를 살핍니다.
그의 27년간의 일지에는 그림과 함께 수술 상황과 치료 과정이 그리고 본인의 감회까지 빼곡이 적혀 있습니다.
환자 본인은 물론이고 자녀들, 가족들의 감사편지가 수북합니다.
그리고 말합니다.
생의 마지막을 병원에서 보내지 말고 집에서 가족과 좋은 추억을 쌓으라고 말입니다.
정년이 3년 남았는데 건강하시기 바랍니다.
