The "button" that started it all – 1oz of cast silver from @pit-bullion...

Sometimes, it’s the small pieces that leave the biggest impression. My 1oz hand-poured cast silver button from @pit-bullion is a perfect example. Compact, clean, and packed with character, it was one of the first pieces I grabbed from him when he joined the Steemit community—and it’s still one of my favourites.
Unlike sand casts or wooden form pours, this piece was cast into a purpose-made mould—precision meets hand-poured charm. It has that classic button shape: smooth, domed, and tactile, like it was made to be rolled between your fingers. There’s a purity to it, both in the .999 silver content and in the craftsmanship.

I remember buying this along with a handful of smaller silver items from @pit-bullion during his early days on the platform. He hit the ground running with his pours—clean lines, sharp stamps, and a passion for the craft that really came through in every piece.
Sadly, he’s on a bit of a break at the moment. With energy prices climbing and silver holding strong, the economics of pouring just aren’t what they used to be. It’s a shame, because makers like him bring so much to the community—not just with their silver, but with their presence and passion.

Still, I’m holding out hope that he fires up the furnace again soon. When he does, I’ll be ready. Until then, this little silver button is a reminder of where it all started—and why poured silver will always have a place in my stack.
Here’s to the pourers, the pioneers, and the pieces that remind us why we started stacking in the first place.
