10 months with Goldbacks: Why I’m glad I stacked early...

It’s been nearly a whole year since I took the plunge and added Goldbacks to my collection—and looking back, I couldn’t be happier with that decision.
When I first bought them, I knew full well I wasn’t getting them for their raw gold weight alone. Let’s be honest, the price per Goldback was always going to be higher than the spot price of gold. But that never bothered me. I didn’t see Goldbacks as just another form of bullion—I saw them as beautiful, collectable, and meaningful pieces of art, each one infused with just enough gold to give it value and story.
Now, with the price of gold continuing its steady climb, I’m starting to realise I may have stumbled into something even better than I thought. While I never expected the gold content of my Goldbacks to surpass the price I paid per piece… if gold keeps rising like this, we might just cross that line sooner than anyone expected.

And here’s the thing: I didn’t buy them as an investment, not in the traditional sense. I bought them because they looked incredible. Because they represented something different. Because they felt like a nod to a time when real value meant something you could hold. The artistry, the regional designs, the idea of gold in a spendable form—it all just ticked the right boxes for me.
But now? It’s shaping up to be a win-win. Not only do I have something visually stunning in my collection—something I genuinely enjoy showing friends and family—but I also hold pieces that are quietly increasing in value as the gold market strengthens. So yeah, I’m really glad I stacked as many as I did when I had the chance. Who knows how much longer we’ll be able to get Goldbacks at the prices we’re seeing now? To my fellow stackers: Have you added Goldbacks to your collection yet? Or are you waiting for the market to justify the premium? I'd love to hear your take—especially if you’ve had them longer than I have.
Until then, keep stacking smart, and never forget the joy of holding something that’s both precious and beautiful.
