Steemit + Pornhub = Vice ???
Get PAID to watch PORN?!
Some of you might have heard or read about this new token that is coming out now, Vice Industry Token, with the catchy slogan of "Get paid to watch porn". But if you haven't heard of it, then this might be your day of enlightenment.
So what differs this porn currency from the others?
Vice Industry Token is a Smart Media Token (aka. SMT), a token based on the blockchain protocol that Steemit developed. So not only does this in my mind make this project even more "stable", but IF it takes off, I believe this reflect back on Steemit and make the Steem price increase further.

What does a new monetization model for the Vice Industry look like? Our solution to this problem is to offer a cryptocurrency token for the Vice Industry that rewards all aspects of engagement in the newly emerging Attention Economy. Built on the same base technology that powers the Steem blockchain, tokens are generated as a direct result of user engagement on a “proof of brain” basis.
Our token efficiently captures the attention of viewers by paying them through the blockchain in a tokenized transaction where all parties are rewarded for participating. We registered the trademark “Get Paid To Watch Porn” to emphasize this fact.
By utilizing our blockchain, any viewer earns tokens for watching, any video producer earns tokens for creating content, and any content curator earns tokens for streamlining the identification of relevant content to the most important party in this equation; the viewer.
Will this change how porn is being watched?
I think this definitely will have a clear effect on the industry as a whole, and might even affect the whole world as your dirty little secret will all of a sudden be profitable!

The reason for the all capital lettering is simple, it's because of this second snippet from their whitepaper:
This means that all of us with Steem holdings will be eligible for FREE Vicetokens! And I find that pretty amazing!
Whitepaper and crowdsale (pre-ICO)
If I'm not totally wrong, they released their whitepaper now in late December, which goes deeper into how this token will function: Vice Industry Token - Whitepaper
Their token crowdsale / Pre-ICO will be held 01. Feb, according to this Tweet they posted, and I'm definitely excited for this! (No! Not that kind of excited, stop that!)

Well, this is certainly a unique token, @d3m0t3x. I've heard a lot about the airdrop lately, so I'm looking forward to redeeming my free tokens once they are available. It will be interesting to see how this turns out, and if they are able to change the porn industry at all.

That's the spirit! I'm all for new blockchains that actually provides something new these days. We already have so many that are just trying to be the next BTC or ETH instead of trying to be something new, so this can potentially be very interesting.

Haha, almost! I don't think porn will get bigger on Steemit, but Vice's whitepaper is talking about implementing this reward systems on most of the biggest "Hub" pages, like PornHub :) Unless you are sitting on a shitload of Steem, then you'll get a fair bit of this new VI-token, which would actually kind of make you a "porn king" :D

i smell a scam, come on, Porn ICO?
What makes you say that? The porn industry is insanely lucrative for the big tube websites, so why not make a blockchain version of it that makes it easier for people to monetize their own productions? I get why some people are skeptical, but I don't think it is fair to call anything a scam just based on the fact that you don't like the idea.
Ok,ok i might have exagerated a bit. But porn blockchain? i don't know how the community will welcome this. I know, there are allot of money in the porn business, but for me, it seems a little weird. From what i've seen on Steemit, porn and nsfw posts doesn't have great success, but i suspect it's more about the moral side of things they are not that popular. But , i watch porn, who doesn't!
it just feels weird to get payed watching pornI guess each have to decide for themselves if they want to buy tokens that are used for operating and paying production of porn, and I can totally understand why some people would not really do this. However, porn does not have to be a bad thing, and there are reputable companies in that sector as well.
Well, this "scam" is backed by Penthouse Media, one of, if not, the larget adult media company in the US. So I wouldn't be so quick jumping to conclusions. Do some research first :)

Well that seems like it would be a pain, if you're into privacy, like me. If this idea will go places, interactions should be anonymous, or at least you should have the option to switch
With a blockchain, everything will be saved permanently, so you better be careful with not letting anyone know your account name ;) This is also one of my concerns about using a blockchain to award users to view or upload porn, but I bet this is something that the developers are aware of. (I have not read the whitepaper, so this concern might of course be useless if they have addressed it).
