Steemit in Silver: The 2oz Bar That Keeps the Set Alive

After reflecting yesterday on the 1oz Steem round in my hand-poured silver set, today it’s time to shine a light on the next piece in the trio — the 2oz Steemit bar, a rugged and beautiful slice of community history in .999 fine silver.

Unlike its smaller, circular sibling, the 2oz bar is just that — a solid rectangular block with presence. On the front, the iconic Steemit logo — those familiar three wave-like lines — takes centre stage, immediately recognisable to anyone who’s spent time in the early days of the blockchain. Just beneath it, the word "steem" is stamped with pride, followed by "2018", anchoring the piece to a year many of us remember as a golden time for online decentralised communities.

But what really sets this bar apart is its functional beauty. Also stamped on the front is "2 oz .999 fine silver", clear and honest — no frills, just the facts. There's no fancy back design either — and that’s entirely intentional. The reverse has been left untouched, showcasing natural ripple lines from the pour. Each wave and curve is a frozen moment in time — a unique fingerprint of molten silver meeting cool air. It’s a texture that never gets old to look at under the right light.

Then there’s the number 7, discreetly stamped at the base on the back — a quiet but powerful marker of its limited mintage. Only 15 of these sets were made by the legendary @pit-bullion, and I was lucky enough to secure matching number 7 across all three pieces — the 1oz round, this 2oz bar, and the soon-to-be-featured 5oz bar. As stackers, we know how rare it is to find a full, matching set, and it’s something I’ll always treasure.
