Silver on the Blockchain: My 1oz Steemit Round

Every stack has its standout pieces—those rare pours that don’t just hold weight in silver, but in story, sentiment, and community. Tonight, I want to share one of those pieces: the first in my set of hand-poured Steemit silver, crafted by none other than @pit-bullion.
This particular gem is a 1oz button round, poured in 2018, and it proudly bears the iconic Steemit logo—three wavy lines representing the rising steam of a fresh idea. Stamped clearly with the word "steem", it marks a moment in time when many of us were discovering the unique intersection of social media and blockchain-backed reward systems.

The reverse of the round doesn’t disappoint either. It’s boldly punched with the words: “1 troy ounce .999 fine silver”, making it not just a tribute to the platform but also a solid addition to any physical silver collection.
What makes this piece even more special? It’s number 7 of just 15 ever made—a tiny run that adds a hefty amount of collectability to its already rich character. Each piece in the trio I hold (a 1oz round, 2oz bar, and 5oz bar) carries that matching number 7 stamp, permanently linking them as a unified set. But for now, I’m focusing solely on the round—the perfect starter for this story.
@pit-bullion’s work is known across the stacking world for its quality and community roots, and this pour is no exception. The finish is rustic and raw in the best possible way—each small flaw a fingerprint of craftsmanship, not a flaw in quality. You can see it was made with care, for collectors who appreciate meaning alongside metal.

For those of us who’ve been around since the early days of Steemit, this round is more than just bullion—it’s a keepsake from the golden era of the platform. A piece of history, hand-forged, weighty in both nostalgia and precious metal.
I’ll be writing about the matching 2oz and 5oz bars later this week, but for now, I’m just enjoying the weight of this 1oz memory in the palm of my hand.
If you’ve got a Steemit round from this series in your collection, let me know—I’d love to see how many other #silvergoldstackers have a piece of this limited run!
