From Wales to the Emerald Isle: Finding Comfort and Beauty on a Work Trip to Ireland
In the early hours, I left my cozy home in Wales and set off towards England, heading for Bristol Airport in the quiet, pre-dawn light. It was one of those smooth journeys where everything seemed to flow just right. I reached the airport with time to spare, grabbed a quick coffee, and soon enough, it was time to board the flight. Scheduled for just over an hour, our flight to Dublin only took 45 minutes, thanks to a helpful tailwind that nudged us along—always a welcome surprise when you’re in travel mode!
Once we touched down in Dublin, it was a quick trip through the airport and onto transport to the hotel. The Irish landscape rolled by as we made our way into the city, a mix of green fields and urban charm, and a few minutes later, I finally arrived at the hotel. After a full morning of travel, nothing sounded better than a long, hot bath. Settling into the warm water, I could feel the aches of the journey start to dissolve, and I let myself relax, breathing in the quiet of my surroundings.
Though it’s technically a work trip, there’s something about being in a country as beautiful as Ireland that makes the journey feel worthwhile.
