What for?

This is my latest gadget (the cover, not the device itself). It's not some invention or anything, I imagined it in a different way and this is specifically for a laptop, not a phone, but a few days ago I couldn't resist and decided to try it out. Although today's phones don't allow this anymore, you see. You see that this way part of the screen is taken up, I don't think it's a problem, it turned out that it's not a problem either that it's glued to the touch screen. So far, there's no malfunction or anything else. In short, it works. After I got used to the appearance of my phone's screen.

This phone is not even a year old, but anyway, I don't sell or give away my phones, so it's not a problem that I changed its appearance in some way.

I'm not paranoid in principle, if I were, I wouldn't have Facebook on my phone, for example. But I'm almost certain that such applications use more than just the microphones on phones. How else would they even read thoughts (as I've told you, it's happened to me, and other people have reported this same phenomenon too).
And the thought that someone on the other end could be watching me while I'm browsing on my phone, being in any appearance, is quite unacceptable.

I recently disabled the microphone on this app, as well as the Google microphone, albeit amidst protests from the phone: "some functionality may not work properly if you disable the microphone". I'm probably the last person who cares about that. Or about the functionality of FB. I also don't care about the selfie camera on my phone because I don't take selfies, I'm really bad at it. And I could have just permanently covered that camera with something instead of doing other things, but then I remembered that I still need it sometimes - like when a financial app asks me to verify my identity as a routine check. So there was no way I could just stick something on top.

I've told you before what I liked most about my old Huawei, in fact maybe the only thing - it was the hidden selfie camera. It was hidden inside the phone, and when I needed to use it, it popped out from inside its body. So, there was no technological "eye" on the screen watching me the whole time I was using it or not. Of course, Chinese technology has its bad reputation for stealing data in any other way, here there was just one small flaw in the design of this device, released on a foreign market, probably for the sole purpose of collecting information anyway (which is probably the purpose of all other devices too.)
I missed that hidden camera in the beginning, too, really. Besides, my new phone came with its own annoying attempts at what not (entering people's personal space) - a lot of pre-installed apps, like LinkedIn, Netflix, and many others, as well as forced installation with the initial activation of several games and a bunch of other crap that I don't need.

Sometimes I wonder how people were monitored and observed in the past, when there was no technology. Can you tell me how? Because I can't remember. And also - who does it and why does it? I'm far from thinking that I'm so important that someone would monitor me, but in the end, it's already been proven that no human life is important. The only interest is whether this person can be tricked into paying some money for something - either to buy a product, or to be blackmailed, or to be scammed.

But God, such a complex technology, just for that!

And remember this from me, in the future, the cameras on phones will be probably placed in the middle of the screen. They will probably even cover the entire screen, so that they cannot be covered or disabled in any way. Just like it happened with removing the battery, to deactivate the phone - this is no longer possible.

But I say again: such complex technologies, such progress, and what for!

Don't you see the contradictions in all this?🤔

Thank you for your time! Copyright:@soulsdetour
steem.jpgSoul's Detour is a project started by me years ago when I had a blog about historical and not so popular tourist destinations in Eastern Belgium, West Germany and Luxembourg. Nowadays, this blog no longer exists, but I'm still here - passionate about architecture, art and mysteries and eager to share my discoveries and point of view with you.

Personally, I am a sensitive soul with a strong sense of justice.
Traveling and photography are my greatest passions.
Sounds trivial to you?
No, it's not trivial. Because I still love to travel to not so famous destinations.🗺️
Of course, the current situation does not allow me to do this, but I still find a way to satisfy my hunger for knowledge, new places, beauty and art.
Sometimes you can find the most amazing things even in the backyard of your house.😊🧐🧭|

This is a nice little touch and I think it adds certain safety for the future. Your future.
Great to see you back posting here!

Thanks for your understanding! 😅 Some people will certainly find this strange, others - too much. And it took me a while to get used to the new look of the device. It's sad that we have to resort to such things these days.

Everything is for sell. Then it must be, there's a buyer for everything.
It isn't surprising, right?

Interesting but do you really believe that Google (not Chinese) is different? Google is the first you should delete , since they spy wherever they ca,n telling you it's for your safety. Interesting how the truth can be hidden and how many fall for it.
You can till cover the cam of your phone (selfie) and only undo if you need it. I do the same and also don't take my phone with me if not necessary.

By the way: I remember how decades ago files were stolen through the printer connection. Alwaysay interesting to see what is possible and people think of to lay hands on your information but... in nearly every way we do it ourselves and share our entire life with the world outside.
Do you truly believe only FB i the one where information about you can be found? Governments leak and everything you buy is info, every payment you make and Steemit is also a part of it. If you want to be safe the best way it to live offgrid, grow your own food, not buy and if with cash and still big brothers keep watching.

If you want to be safe

As I already wrote, I don't want to be paranoid, and if I were thinking about my security, I wouldn't have many of the things I have on my phone, maybe I would have an old device that I could just put a card on, or not have a phone at all. 😃 I put the camera cover on because I don't want someone somewhere to accidentally see me naked or something else, which happens, because people don't pay that much attention when they're at home, we still don't live constantly with the awareness that we're being watched, at least that's what they've managed to achieve. And we, in poor countries, can hardly even comprehend this because no one has ever shown in our lives that they care about us or are interested in us, so why would anyone be watching us? There is no logic in this. 😂

I am afraid it doesn't matter where you live. It has nothing to do with being paranoid but the fact this is reality.

It's hard to do without, in many cases people worldwide are forced to use the latest technologies all advertised with user friendly and being at your serves.

The naked reminds me of a neighbour in the appartment once telling that as he walked over the galery in front of the flats on his way to let the dog out, he heard all couples having sex..

This also happens when your phone stays in the bedroom.😅

Yes, I am aware that this is the reality and we have no way of not living this reality. I think that when the rules of the game are like this, we have to play this game, but being aware of them. From then on, everyone decides for themselves what they will do with this awareness. Radical rebellion cannot lead to anything. Maybe to self-destruction or madness, but not to liberation. When we are put in these conditions, we should live in them, and not constantly run away from reality. Lately I often think about another such condition/rule of the game, even more fundamental - materialism and money, which are the basis of the entire organization. And when I meet people who say that money is not important, because they are spiritual beings and are only interested in the spiritual I'm really amazed. No, my dear, if you think like that, then you don't know where you are at all or you are just constantly trying to escape reality.
Anyway, this is a complicated topic, the rules are so simple and at the same time so complicated, because everyone has to discover them for themselves, basically.

It's hard to live off grid and only the minority can or does. Not just dependency of money but also the fact it's not easy to have a place to stay and grow your own food, find people willing to exchange products and skills (although we have them and a giveaway shop for clothes, toys, cds, books, kitchen tools and small furniture also plants for the garden —no room fir big items but messages can be left) play a role next to being registrated and all the taxes that has to be paid (including for owning a dog).

The danger of a communutt based on money is that there will be a reset every x years and it is always the result if bad financial management (my rights would have been taken away long before but givernments keep spending what they don't have), printing money, false obligations to increase the inflation, accompanied by soreasing hate, fear and a world in war.

Saying money isn't important only tge next type of oeople say:

  • those having enough (access to: capital, shelter, food) someone like Wilky Wonka and his army of singing slaves —till the bans start and there is no cocoa 🤐
  • those without bills

This is also an interesting #diginnasio topic.

A happy day!

🍀♥️
