Steemart - Pyrography Art on Cardboard

in #steemart8 years ago

This is my first time using the pyrography tool on a piece of cardboard, which I reclaimed from the back of a drawing sketchbook. It's a hard pressed 3 mm cardboard. The process of wood burning on cardboard does feel rather peculiar, but in the end it worked fine.

First I drew some main lines to make some shapes which I would fill with pyrography doodles; just like regular doodles only burned onto cardboard. Below you can see the shape of the tip that I'm using, if you're into pyrography.

In the end I decided to add some colors and used acrylics to do the job. For the background I used a sponge dipped in some ochre color acrylic; that's just a fancy name for yelow/orange.

That's all. Follow me if you want to see more Pyrography Art, or maybe quilling or whatever crazy thing comes to my mind. And if you're going to Steemfest I have some giveaways in my future posts.

Stay creative!

magnificent work, congratulations

@jlufer thank you! I always appreciate your visits.

beautiful work, did you have to work quicker to avoid burning the card too much or can you adjust the temperature on your tool?

I can't adjust the temperature on this one, but I used the same speed of movement and it didn't burn faster than wood. Maybe because it's thick pressed cardboard, I'm not sure.

Thanks, curiosity got the better of me so I had to ask :D

I'm glad I could help :)

That is beautiful:)

Thank you for your kind words!

You're welcome!

I like it... creative use of the steem logo.

Thank you for your kind words.

Very nice work. Have you ever considered using leather as a medium?

Thank you. Yes I have considered working with leather, but haven't tried it yet.

It's hard to believe that's cardboard! I would be terrified of setting the house on fire. I'm hoping to get my wood burning tools by the end of the year. A birthday treat for me. :)

It's cardboard from the back of a sketchbook. Can't wait to see what you make with your burning tool. :)
