We make use of onions in our various homes to cook different dishes. Onion is one of the farm products that has been in existence for a long time. In the past, onions were considered the cheapest vegetable worldwide, but here in Nigeria they have become so expensive. However, people still consume them due to the benefits they have for our health.
Onions are delicious when included in stew to eat with rice; the taste and flavor are amazing. Onions have a lot of vitamins and minerals that improve our health, helping us stay strong all the time.

زیر تبصرہ تصویر ہرا دھنیا کی ہے۔میرے لان میں بنا ہوا چھوٹا سا فارم جو کہ سبزیوں کے لیے مختص ہے اس میں اگا ہوا یہ ہرا دھنیا ہمیں تازگی کا احساس دلاتا ہے۔اس کی رنگت نہ صرف نظروں کو خیرہ کرتی ہے بلکہ ہمارے کھانوں میں بھی ذائقہ اور خوبصورتی کا سبب بنتی ہے۔
مجھے بذات خود ہرا دھنیا بہت پسند ہے اور میں اس کو مختلف طریقوں سے استعمال کرتی ہوں۔جب کبھی بازار سے ہرا دھنیا خریدنے جائیں تو سبزی والا الگ سے بھی ہماری سبزی میں ہرا دھنیا ڈال کر دیتا ہے اس کے ساتھ ہری مرچوں کا بھی اضافہ کرتا ہے۔بعض سبزی والے ہرا دھنیا ڈالنے کے پیسے لیتے ہیں مگر زیادہ تر ہماری سبزی کے ساتھ ہرا دھنیا بطور تحفہ ہمیں دیتے ہیں۔
دیکھا جائے تو یہ سبزی بہت معمولی نوعیت کی ہے مگر اس کی خوشبو اس کی رنگت اور اس کا ذائقہ ہر چیز لاجواب ہے۔
یہی وجہ ہے کہ میں نے اپنے گھر میں بھی چھوٹا سا فارم بنایا ہوا ہے اور اس میں ہرا دھنیا اپنی الگ اہمیت کے ساتھ موجود ہے۔گھر کے تازہ پانی سے تیار ہوا یہ ہرا دھنیا نہ صرف ذائقے میں لذیذ ہوتا ہے بلکہ اس کی رنگت اور خوشبو بازار کے ہرے دھنیا سے کہیں زیادہ ہے۔

One of the best practices to maintain good agricultural yield is routine weeding.
After planting my casava stem last three weeks , it brings out shoot and germinate into casava plant. But one of the factors that can cause stunted growth is allowing weed to compete with the plant. So last Saturday was time for me to remove the unwanted plant call weed to allow my casava plant to grow well.
And this will be done on a routine bases like 3-4 times before harvesting. With this I will successful carried out one of the most important agricultural practices call weeding.
In some cases we're the farmland is so big I used herbicide instead, but this particular farm I decided to used traditional weeds removal method.

Clearing those weed is necessary so that it would allow your cassava to grow as you want. I also planted cassava in my farm I would follow your footstep just like you did whenever I noticed the weed around my already planted cassava. May you reap the fruit of your labour.

Agriculture has always been an important sector, we can't solely depend on imported products, like edible products because most of the foods stuffs are preserved with some preservatives( chemicals) which most of them are not good in the human body. I enjoyed the seriousness I saw in farm work while we were on my way to our farmland in the village.
Families were moving in groups to make sure they can plant different crops. Already prepared, our farmland was used two years back and it still looked like the nutrients were off, so we had to do tiling, you know what it is to tile a large farmland without using machines.
After tiling a large part, we decided to start planting, cassava, corn and melon. This are the most planted crop in the state. I really love corn a lot and I can't wait to devour them.
I really love the roasted corn and pear mixture, and also boiled and pear. This brought a debate, which is your favorite, roasted corn or boiled corn?😅

Farming is very lucrative. Most countries depend on it for exportation. Here in Nigeria, we have fertile soil and good weather, which is suitable for most crop species. But unfortunately, we're still depending on importation of food stuffs.
About the debate.
I love the roasted corn. Especially the ones roasted with the peels. The taste, color and the flavor is heavenly.
Nigeria is a blessed country, sometimes we want to sit and wait for the government to feed us, it is good we have woken up, gotten and tools and here we are in our farmlands. There will be bountiful harvest.

True, subsistence farming is common in our different residential areas as this gives us natural farm produce for us to feed on, on my take between roasted corn and boiled corn, I'd prefer boiled corn, as I feel the boiled corn really bring out the taste of the corn and with the pear combo,it tastes is unmatched, unlike roasted corn, it may be like that just for me, others may have different take on this, but I'd choose boiled over roasted anytime, anyday.
We will go to a roasted corn stand bruh, you will love it. By the way, I love boiled too.

Star fruits
Star fruit is also known as carambola, is a tropical fruit native to Asia. But it's also found in my country here Nigeria. Infact, the image was taken from my mom's garden.It's a type of fruit that belongs to the Oxalidaceae family.
Thier characteristics include a unique star shape when sliced in cross-section. A sweet but slightly sour taste with a flavour like a mixture of pineapple orange and it's texture is crispy and juicy.
Star fruits are rich in antioxidants, potassium and vitamin C. They're low in calories which makes it a good snack.
They can be consumed as whole or mixed with other for desert, fruit salad, smoothie and so on.
They're good immune booster, very good heart health support because of the presence of potassium which help to lower blood pressure.
The antioxidants helps to prevent cell death and impact of oxidative stress.
