Too Early To Evaluate Jose Mourinho

Jose Mourinho returned back to the touchline with a win when Tottenham visited West Ham at home and it was a great one for the former Chelsea and Manchester united Manager who just took charge at Tottenham following the dismiss of Mauricio Pochettino. Tottenham form this season has been in question mark after the club failed to continue from where they stopped last season under the man who took them to the final stage of the UEFA champions league last season which they lost to Liverpool.

Aside from the fact that the club is not doing well in the league this season, their away poor run can be traced back to January against Fulham which happens to be the last time they won away from home and playing away to the Hammers is the first test that the new manager have to pass through to put an end to the poor away form. Although one can easily say Tottenham has gotten a man who can make things right at the club looking at it from the angle of experience. Jose Mourinho is fully aware of the league unlike other managers and has won it on different occasions with the Blues.

He is a man well known for his mind game and his own ideology but it will be too early to evaluate him despite getting his first job done. Tottenham were well connected upfront in the first half which actually led to 3 goals from Son, L.Moura and Kane but feel relax in the second half to allow 2 consolidation goals from the Hammers through Antonio and Ogbonna. Mourinho is fully aware of the potentials that his new players had and just need to encourage them so that they can improve on their performance. First and foremost, he had first told Dele Alli to play like Dele and not like Alli jokingly and against West Ham, the English man was deploy to the no 10 role linking up Son, Moura and Kane rightly.

He was so instrumental in the midfield in the first half providing the first assist that led to the first goal from Son and was against the architect of the second goal by L.Moura in the 43 minutes as the Spur were leading West Ham by 2 goals before the half break. The second half resumed and Harry Kane made it 3 goals lead when he powered in a header in the 49 minutes few minutes to the start of the second half and that took him to the third position on the club all time goal scorer ahead of Chivers but while the visitors thought they have done well to secure the maximum point or to add to their tally, the home team reply back in the 73 minutes from Michail Antonio who came in as a subtitute and in the final minutes of the game, they got another goal from Ogbonna header but that is not enough to stop Jose from celebrating his first win.

His next game will be against Bournemouth and personally i think there is still lot to be corrected in the team looming at it from the come back from West Ham, Tottenham were just a little bit lucky to have secure the 3 points and they have to work on their defense line ahead of the next game but what is so clear and different from Pochettino approach is that the team play more of attacking game. I think it will be too early to evaluate Mourinho until the end of the season and see when he will lead Tottenham to on the log table but taking up the job for a team in the mid table is a decision i love from Jose.
