Not Gold

Hi friends,

My son had an “on campus field trip” recently - confused about that, so am I, lol.

Apparently, a company came to them and did a big setup and it was western frontier-based - taught them laso’ing, olden days, and gold panning, among other things.

He loved the gold panning and came back and showed me the gold nuggets he found:

Not real gold of course, but hey, getting him excited about finding some fake gold has him motivated to find the real stuff now :) Time to schedule a prospecting trip!

Thanks for coming by,
Brian

Yep, it's pyrite. But that's still pretty cool!

Exactly, your child already knows about fake gold, and will be very attentive to details to recognize the real thing.
