RE: Pushing Through versus Letting Go

Those are some impressive distances, man!

How long did it take you to build up that kind of endurance? I've been trying for years to increase my daily run, but every time I get around the 10km mark I wind up pulling a muscle or damaging a tendon and then I've got to rest for a couple of months and start over. It's frustrating, because I feel like my cardio-vascular health is there but my legs just can't take it.

Sort:

For the last year and a half I trained with a method called "Maffetone" (do a search on google, there's a lot of info) but the endurance was built gradually. The first ultra I ran 3 years after I started to run seriously. It's 75% mental and 25% physical. But of course, the most important thing is to remain injury free.
