Back to Guildford Parkrun

I haven't done this course since September - it started to get wet and most of it is over grass. So it was interesting to see my progress today.

It was wet, very muddy in places and cold and windy, but I managed a PB for Guildford which I'm pleased with. It was 50 seconds slower than my run in Weymouth last weekend, but Weymouth is almost completely flat and mostly paved. Guildford is described as "undulating" (there are four slopes, not quite hills, up and four slopes down) and it certainly feels harder. It was three minutes faster than I was managing at my best on this course in September.

Nonetheless I got round in just over 35 minutes and managed to pull a sprint finish out again too. I'm a bit conflicted about ending that way, I'm generally not a highly competitive person, but I am a bit of a show off, so I feel sorry for the people I whizz past in the final hundred yards, but the applause more than makes up for it :)
