Late getting it to you, but there is the international HHH magazine for free

in #running2 months ago

There is no official leadership for the Hash House Harriers. In the past we have had people contact us asking for permission to do certain things like open their own chapter and our response is that it has nothing to do with us and to do whatever they want. There never has been, nor will there ever be, a governing body for the HHH but we do try to help one another out as often as possible.

There is a group in Sweden that makes a "magazine" for Hashers all over the world and even though it is somewhat localized for that part of Europe, it is still a nice thing that they do it at all because they make no money doing this.

That's the cover for the Feb 2025 "magazine" and I have no idea who that is on the cover. No doubt it is meant as a joke and perhaps it is a joke that is in rather poor taste. That does seem like very Hash-like behavior.

Featured in this magazine are a bunch of articles about a bunch of things but one that was really important (to Hashers) was an article about how Mortimer Cecil Hay and a Hash visit to his grave. Mortimer was one of the founding members of the Hash House Harriers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, all those years ago when some loonies had a great idea for getting out the weekend's excess of drinking by going for a run on Mondays and then also drinking afterwards. It's not stupid if it works!

There are other memorial writeups about Hashers that recently passed on and this is always tragic to see but it is nice to see the people featured wearing absurd clothes and having fun on the Hash in various places around the world.

It is unfortunate that the main author, whoever that is, decided to get political in a few of the things that he writes and many Hashers have sent him messages asking him to stop doing this but hell, he makes the magazine for no money so I guess he wants to hit us up with propaganda while he is doing it..

anyone, Hasher or not, is free to look at the latest edition here if they so desire.

Just like most of our down down songs, it isn't very long. It also isn't meant to be taken seriously outside of the obvious stuff like remembering a Hasher that recently passed away.

We are still, and likely always will be, doing 3 runs a week here in Chiang Mai and you are welcome to come and join us and see what all the noise is about. Full schedule for upcoming events are available HERE

On On!
