Results

Friday 9th August

Liverpool 4 Norwich 1

An easy win was predicted by many as Liverpool easily defeated Norwich at home. Liverpool lost star goalkeeper Alisson in the first half but that didn't stop them running rampage with 3 different scorers (and an own goal) and 4 different players earning an assist.

Goals scored
LiverPool: van Dijk (1), Origi (1), Salah (1)
Norwich: Pukki (1)

Assists

Norwich: Buendía

Saturday 10th August

West Ham 0 Man City 5

Man City destroyed The Hammers in an a facile victory sending The Blues to the top of the table in week 1. Sterling could have had 4/5 goals and didn't look best pleased when Agüero took two attempts to score a penalty the winger had earned - he still ended up with a hat-trick and is the highest points scorer this week.

Goals scored
Man City: Sterling (3), Agüero (1), Jesus (1)
Assists
Man City: Mahrez (3), Walker (1), De Bruyne (1)

Bournemouth 1 Sheffield United 1

A score draw on the south coast and a point for newly promoted Sheffield United which they can't be too upset about away from home.

Goals scored
Bournemouth: Mepham (1)
Sheffield United: Sharp (1)
Assists
Bournemouth: Wlison (1)

Burnley 3 Southampton 0

A surprisingly easy win for Burnley in what looked like a fairly even match up at Turf Moor. Southhampton are going to have to improve on this performance or else a tough season is ahead.

Goals scored
Burnley: Barnes (2), Gudmundsson (1)
Assists
Burnley: Pieters (2)

Crystal Palace 0 Everton 0

A goalless draw to kick off proceedings at Selhurst Park and perhaps it will be Everton who are the most disappointed team here. A good result for managers picking defenders from either club.

Watford 0 Brighton 3

Watford carried over their poor run-in last season and with numerous players out injured lost convincingly at home to the impressive Brighton.

Goals scored
Brighton: Andone (1), Maupay (1)
Assists
Brighton: Dunk (1), Groß (1), Pröpper (1)

Spurs V Aston Villa

Spurs made it only one defeat in their last 17 games against Villa, who had started brightly with the first goal. A brace for popular dream team selection Harry Kane pleasing many managers in the first week.

Goals scored
Tottenham: Kane (2), Ndombele (1)
Aston Villa: McGinn (1)
Assists
Tottenham: Lucas Moura (1), Sissoko (1)
Mings
Aston Villa:

Sunday 11th August

Leicester 0 Wolves 0

A tight, competitive affair was on the cards at The King Power Stadium and a goalless draw wasn't the most unlikely result. Both teams will be fairly happy with this result but if one is to make a charge for the top 6 this year, these are the sort of games they will need to win.

Newcastle 0 Arsenal 1

Newcastle looked weak up front after departures of key strikers over the summer and it was Arsenal who came out just on top on Tyneside.

Goals scored
Arsenal: Aubameyang (1)
Assists
Arsenal: Maitland-Niles (1)

Man United V Chelsea

The opening weeks most high profile match saw Manchester United demolish Frank Lampard's Chelsea at Old Trafford.
Chelsea, burdened by injuries and a transfer market ban started well but were over-powered by the athletic reds who fielded the youngest starting eleven in the Premier League this week.

Goals scored
Manchester United: Rashford (2), Martial (1), James (1)
Assists
Manchester United: Pogba (2), Pereira (1)

Got 73 points and was happy enough with it really. I've often had a lot lower than that but there were some big numbers in this week.

73 is usually a really strong score, the big spenders got off to a flyer though.

Not bad, higher than average at least :)

Usually I'd be happy to start with 66 points, but everyone else is off to a flyer!

I made a small fantasy league post on my page if anyone else playing is interested enough to read it.

All the best for the season, I looked forward to the race!

Yeah many of the big name players started well - a long way to go yet :)

I had Salah (C), VVD and Sterling, and sit you comfortably at 13 .

Nice choice of captain! I chose Alexander Arnold 😅

So many goals on the opening weekend :)

I am glad I made Kane my captain :)

He normally starts the season slowly and so could be fired up and score loads :)

There were no surprises in most of the results!

I would like to win a good Parley with these teams

I like Parsley

Triple captain on hattrick man Sterling was a pretty awesome start for the guy at the top. I'm going to wait for a double game week to use that though - and the captain will probably do f all :D

Hi i got nice start in this season :) what You think ! ;)

I feel like i must be the only one with a shocker of a first week, mind you completely my own fault for going way outside the box on captaining Jimenez

Stick to the big guns for captain :D

Ye I know it was a complete moment of madness that I instantly regretted

Started slowly and scored 72points. That's a good start to the season,

Solid enough :)

Yeah. I regret not having Sterling, though Harry Kane didn't do so bad either
