Steemit Portrait Photography Contest Week 16 Theme Halloween! 6 Year Old @qiqi-power Does Her Own Halloween Face Paint!
Tis the Halloween season!
As you know I love photography and have a beautiful and creative daughter who is at it again with her artistic sense of fashion!
I took this photo the other day after QiQi did her first ever face painting. She did this all on her own without any help. She has had her face painted before but not her own.
As an entry into the respected portrait contest run my @jasonrussell. I chose this photo as I felt it was the most suited for this particular contest.
Below I will include an extra photo from the shoot but felt this first one is the best entry for this contest.
@qiqi-power isn't a scary halloween girl she is a sweet and beautiful one. She is also a great model which is one of many things I appreciate about her.
One of my great hopes for life and the world is that humanity begins to recognize the value of children, honest expression and PLAY as prime importances instead of money, war, and material possession as is currently the predominant priority around the world. Please check out @qiqi-power if you want to see some of the most real content on Steemit. I love to see people happy and freely expressing them selfs. I can feel that in these photos. I love seeing the children holding hands, running barefoot and having a festive time. I am grateful to be able to share this with you all here. Steemit is the best place to share online. In fact the main reason I love photography is because it is such a great medium for sharing. Especially these days online. I hope you enjoyed these photos and take some time to focus your perspective on love and beauty.
OMG! What a human being. So present and full of love!!! I can see her making her face to match her paint job...she always gives it her all -- full on!!! She wore that paint very proudly, and really made the best of her self expression. I love you @qiqi-power!!!
Yes!

ITS ME!
hahahahahahhaha yes it is!
Wow, that's REALLY striking!!
I felt a lot of power in it~
Glad you appreciate it~*~
very tribal, I like her painting job! I've always LOVED face painting and started early with it for Halloween as well. In my family we always - even at aged 5 - made our own costumes and although they weren't sophisticated, they gave us a great creative outlet and I got really into it every year. The last real costume I put a lot of time into was in the late 1990s and I was a bird with these giant gold wings. I cut out and layered each gold foil feather, painted my face, and wore clothes that worked with it. Somewhere I have a photo, and if I find it I'll share it. Another of my favs from long ago my boyfriend at the time was the North wind and I was the South wind. No one knew what we were unless we told them but we have the greatest time making our costumes. Anyway, thanks for this post and giving me the chance to remember this much loved activity from earlier years! Who knows, maybe I'll do it again soon.
Yes being creative is fun!
I was into making costumes as a child though don't get to much into halloween these days. The children dress up regularly and we don't really celebrate holidays so its not to big a deal hehe.
I would love to see some photos of our costumes as I know your an inspired artist. Artists costumes are always the best!
The Golden Wings sound awesome!
I don't get into Halloween much anymore either because inevitably there's a ton of candy and that stuff is just poison. I do like seeing the trick or treaters out in my neighborhood though and we usually try to take a walk when it's light out and they are out so we can see them. When I have a chance I'll see if I can find some old photos but it's kind of a rabbit hole when I start looking through old photos so it'll have to wait until some evening when I have a little extra time.
Your family doesn't celebrate holidays? I can understand lots of reasons for this, but I have to admit that I love the excuse to celebrate, I should also say that I don't buy into the commercialism of holidays so that's not an issue for me, just love the extra joy of an event. Anyway, have a beautiful Sunday @quinneaker!
Yes I am always happy to celebrate in sustainable and holistic ways!
Though we live a life of unprecedented freedom, so we don't really need vacations, weekends or holidays.
Also all holidays are not only commercialized but full of dogma etc.
I love to see people happy and celebrating though so atlas holidays achieves some of that....besides all the ones who commit suicide on those days......
Ok to end on a POSITIVE note hahahaha
BLESSINGS!
