Yeah, so… I’ll try to post something happier next time, but no promises. My poems seem to come from dark places, inspiration shining through shadow.

Self-kindness is a gift. Though not always easy, it’s worth pursuing the practice.

Whatever happens, keep singing your song!

Peace. @katrina-ariel

I suppose so... sometimes it seems the shadows are more prevalent than the light, but seeds germinate in the dark, right? ;) Thanks for the love, love. ;)

Yes indeed they do my love. I know remember we are hardwired to focus on the negative. When life is tickety Boo we don't think of the darkness do we question mark but when we're in the darkness we are just longing for the light. Put your hands on your heart and tell you you doing just fine. Xx

The theme of this year (Earth-Pig) is being gentle and kind to ourselves for the mistakes we've made in the past, especially those mistakes that have been us not doing something, or being lax in choices we've made.... where we've made the "easy" decision, but not the appropriate one.

I love the metaphor of this path of kindness being as a knife-edge... because it is, more often than not... otherwise, we would all be Boddhisattvas!! There's a reason we need to work at it.

I listened to a great On Being podcast the other week with a neuroscientist.... and his schtick is that our brains a re hard-wired to learn kindness. It is our birth-right... but we need to work to it.

😊🙏🏽💜

What a thoughtful comment, thank you! These are great things to keep in mind, and yes, kindness—especially self-kindness—is something that we work at, but it's good work. ;)

Nice one. Keep them coming!
A lot of past pain showing between the lines. The best victory over past pain is when we decide to stop letting it hurt us and move towards better times in the future. Of course, a key requirement is letting go of the fear of past hurt, knowing that once we have survived it, it can never hurt us the same again. Hence, no more need for fear, only the enJOYment of letting ourselves feel free to experience the happiness and fun again, no matter how fleeting.
Enjoy!

Thank you. I quite like the words playing in shadow and light here.

Oofta, that's a helluva self reflection. Love it! Dark, but powerfully written sweets.

Thank you, my friend. Glad you liked the ink spilled from my veins. ;)

Many Hugs and so much Love sent your way!!

So appreciated! Love!!! 💖

This is just wonderful @katrina-ariel!

Self-kindness is a gift. Though not always easy, it’s worth pursuing the practice.

The hardest thing is to think of ourselves as worthy of receiving the kindness we often bestow upon others, yet, we are as needing and as important and as deserving and worthy! 💖

Absolutely! Why is that so hard?

Thank you for the wonderful comment. 💖

I can never understand poetry.

I read once, I understand one way.

I read for the second time, I understand in a different way.

If I keep reading my head it will explode ... lol.

I imagine you wrote something solid, but I'll never know.

Never mind ... I congratulate you on my heart.

The thing about poetry is it is supposed to be cryptic. It's okay if it means one thing to you and something else to someone else. Thanks for reading. :)

Thank you for being so kind and attentive.
