Since I have replenished my arsenal with wide-angle lenses, the necropolis of the Novodevichy Convent is one of my favorite places to shoot in general, and especially considering the black and white scenes.
this was shot this November late in the evening, when the sun was casting only a slender reflections on the roofs. It took me an 80 second shutter speed and proper 'development' of the raw file to get the result you see.
Obviously, b-w and color versions give a different impression. I would be intrested to see your comments on this. What is your fave, and why?..

I think places like this - graveyards and memorial parks and such - look "better" in black and white. The monochrome shows the dark and melancholic mood much better than a colorful photo. So, you have done a good job with the first photo, @qwerrie 😊

yes, the 1st one is 146% melancholic and... dull... after long consideration, I considered in this case, colour version is what I prefer. your comment is much appreciated, I needed it.

I made a whole session that time in colour -- which I love pretty much.. probably I may return there to take more pics, if there will fall out a sympatico 20-cm layer of snow... that would be a b-w session, for sure...
Yes, with snow these images would look really good in black and white ... so, let's hope it snows soon and I don't have to wait too long for the photos 🙂
