RE: What is A Myth?

in #philosophy7 years ago

Interesting pondering, en4orc3r, "why such gods and myths were invented and worshipped." Well, in the words of Jim Morrison of the Doors, if my memory and the movie are correct, "People want something sacred." But I think the biggest question is, should we worship something of our own invention or creation or should we worship our Creator? I guess some people don't believe in a Creator but a lot of people do.

The Cambridge Dictionary gives two definitions of the word myth. an ancient story or set of stories, especially explaining the early history of a group of people or about natural events and facts: and: a commonly believed but false idea: so I quess a myth can be more like a legend, or it can be a misconception.
