Photos I stole from the street - Ep. 1 The gypsy wake, fugitive portraits and a pair of gates
Yesterday I left for Easter. The cities are crazy these days so we chose the mountains. Everybody is running errands, the number of cars increased on the roads and though officially today we start the Easter Holidays, there is not one soul that didn't supply with goods, the days before, like Armageddon was coming.
The Church is the main attraction these days. Usually, ladies like these are daily walking from home, to Church, to the Cemetery and then in the central square to buy fresh greens | Click on image for full size
I'm going to the mountains and again, after a lot of time, I feel whole again. Though late, nature started blooming. I see a lot of pictures from my friends here on Steemit, depicting trees blooming. It makes me so happy. There's something magical about spring, in itself, it's a metaphor.
Some decide to have a better day than ruining their feet to the Church and instead drown their happiness in a bottle of 1.5 litre beer | Click on image for full size
On our way out of town, we passed along a gypsy wake. Somebody important in their society it seems that have died. The thing is that for the last couple of days these guys have been partying. We live pretty close to them (600-700 meters away if we consider a straight line) and for 2 days now we've been hearing their music and smelling their midnight barbeques.
Party like there is no tomorrow when you face death: the neighbourhood party, with barbeques and loud music is taking half of the road | Click on image for full size

Though the house of the deceased is almost down, the respect the community is showing is beyond financial aspects. Their culture is totally different especially when facing death. Their resolution of death (in face of death they party and defy the lady with the scythe) dictates their life. You can't be afraid to live if you can't be afraid to die.
I think the best thing about having my husband back home is that I get to stay in the passenger seat and take pictures. I don't have to drive anymore, or at least not so much, so I do get the chance to shot from the moving car. There are some advantages to this "technique" as there are also disadvantages.
First of all, you surprise people. They don't get the chance to see you taking the picture and if they do, they will only be able to usually do an interesting pose :) even if it will be an angry one.

The second biggest advantage is that you get to see a lot of frames and shots while being able to check your right and your left. With my 70-200mm I have I can even shoot through between the driver and its open window. I'm so proud of myself for getting this lens.

Now I'll have a few days in the middle of the mountains to relax and enjoy and hopefully I'll be able to make some pictures that I'll love and post it back here with a story for you guys. I say hopefully because I will have to fight for the camera with @littleone and I'm still afraid that the weather will play jokes to us and send some rain.
