How to effectively motivate?

One of the most important tools in the workshop of a well-qualified specialist from working with the subconscious is the ability to manage motivation. The ability to motivate and motivate people around them is fundamental not only in work, business, personal development but also in achieving any worthwhile end. Will it be learning a foreign language, dropping a few kilograms, or regular meditation practice.

In general, we can distinguish two types of motivation: goal-oriented and self-directed. In the first case, we motivate us to see the purpose we aim for. We can visualize the situation as if we had already achieved our goal. The attractiveness of our vision stimulates energy in us, and the subconscious searches for different possibilities, different paths to reach the goal. However, it turns out that for most people this type of motivation only works in the short run. Research has shown that people of success, those who continue for a long time to do something that leads to the goal, stand out with one very important skill. They can work, work "deferring satisfaction". They are not targeted, they do not think too much about their long-term goal. People who are still focused on their ultimate goal, after some time, notice that they still have a long way to go before they get material success or lose 25 kilograms of time, and their current performance compared to the final goal looks pretty pale. Slow down in their action is the creeping in, the motivation fades.

Most of us know it well. For example, we want to have an attractive, athletic figure, or master the English language. We take up the practice and study with the ultimate goal of vision, which excites us very much. However, after a month or two we notice that we do not yet have a body of adonis, and our English is limited to the knowledge of numerals, days of the week and simple questions like "what is your name?" And he was far from fluent. And yet in today's culture, we have to get everything right now, now, and tomorrow at the latest. We can not wait patiently for the gratification, delay it in the future. We are more or less disappointed and motivated to sit down.

Knowing this mechanism we can do two things. Appreciating the motivational role of the ultimate goal, we can divide the way to reach it in smaller steps, defining our goals. Our goal may be, for example, dropping 2 kg of fat in two weeks. This is a partial goal in the quest to throw 25 kg. By focusing your mind on pursuing a small goal, we have a great chance of reaching it within the time limit. After achieving a partial goal, we receive instant gratification in the form of a sense of satisfaction and pride of success. In addition, we can still nominate a reward for this achievement. This will have a very motivating effect on our mind and we will set a further goal for the next 2 weeks with greater enthusiasm. In this method we are concentrating on smaller targets and shorter deadlines.

The second option is to learn to take motivation from the action itself. Activity itself should be motivating for us. If someone loves to dance, even though he is preparing for a performance at a ballroom dance and sometimes thinks about winning the first prize, he is eager to come to the training and has a deep motivation for them because he just loves to dance. The act itself is a source of satisfaction, not a reward. Someone who is so motivated, even if he does not win the tournament, will continue dancing. Every action can be the source of this kind of motivation. If we learn to enjoy satisfaction from the exercise itself, the vision of the athletic figure becomes less important than this joy. The paradox of this situation is that without focusing on the goal, we are easier to achieve.

It may be meditation practice to find this kind of motivation to act great help. Meditation in a very effective and elegant way teaches us the ability to focus on the present, "here and now". Thanks to that, every experience, including exercise, science, or work, is of extraordinary quality, becoming very important as part of this "here and now". It is said that meditation can be practiced with every activity, washing dishes, at work (the former religious ideal "ora et labora" - pray and work), with exercises (yoga, martial arts, tai chi, etc.). At the time, the activity is so satisfying, it is a reward in itself, like a dance.

The biggest successes in the various fields are those for which the action itself is joy, and the goal, if at all thought, is secondary. Perhaps a little bit of it with the popular (mainly in America) guides on the "attraction force" and commands to visualize one's ultimate goal for hours, savoring its imagination in all its aspects, but I think that each of us intuitively senses that skill Motivation management and successful pursuit of success are a little more complicated.
