Thank you for reminding me I need to revise my Maths a little. Very good post for people learning it for the first time, but also good for people like me who have learned and perhaps forgotten or never saw proofs like this before!

    I think there is always a time and place for more formal proofs. I just love being entertained by the "behind the scenes" stories and the beauty of mathematics.

    These stories are also wonderful ways to get my students perking their heads up in class for something dull like proofs. Math is what it is, but if I hook'em with "Oxen Sacrifice," I get 32 sets of eyes right on me.
