I don't think they need to ban cash, just make it inconvenient and phase it out. It's already much easier to pay by contactless and very inconvenient to make significant purchases with cash. Large cash transactions have been outlawed already which damages criminal ability to launder cash and the inland revenue will estimate earnings for small businesses if they think they are too low.
Ban on cash would probably make guns and ammo go through the roof. Your gold may be taken Wild West style.

Hi @andrewskelton, It's cold and has even been snowing this morning. I played gold yesterday and the greens were like ice early on the round.

As fun as the Cryptos are, the security blanket of Gold and Silver have always provided comfort.
