About Focus
Greetings, travelers!
Focusing might be one of the most important and difficult tasks that our mere human brain needs to handle on a daily basis. It takes a lot of effort and discipline to train our thinking machines into focus machines. I love the analogy that our mind trying to focus is like being on a busy and chaotic highway, where each car is a separate coexistent thought trail, but our conscience is beside all of it, sitting and observing. And if we wonder and find ourselves inside any of the cars, driving into an unknown thinking destination, we have to remind us that we're currently apart from it; we're just, peacefully and tediously, sitting.
The context in which I heard the previous analogy was for practicing meditation, but I think it relates a lot with this post's theme as well, since it in a way also is focus training.
But I wanted to register this words here just to vent a bit, I guess. I feel like I've spent so much of my limited focus working for the past few weeks, that I have to admit that I pressured myself into "writing a better post" and did not continue after my Restart. And it's been so ffing frustrating! I do love to write, but, as with most other things in this life, it gets a lot harder and less fun to do it when we're pressuring ourselves to do it.
So that's it, I hope this post can at least help me get back to writing. It's been good to write again. Have a good one, and safe travels (:
