a friend who is fun and exciting

We all have some friends who because of their ignorance assume that I have the ability as a "King Maker", which can promote a person in a certain position.

I have never done anything like the "King Maker" job in any position.

I strongly believe, that the rise of a person in a particular position is purely because of the personal qualities he or she possesses. Although of course there are some exceptions but that is something that need not be discussed.

At one time, I got a job with six people "champion", professional experts in their respective fields, namely Prof. Dr. Priyatna Abdurrasyid SH LLM, Prof. Ir Oetaryo Diran, Dr. Ir Budi Mulyawan, Laksda Yayun Riyanto, Ir Jusman Syafii Djamal, and Tengku Burhanudin SE.

Heavy duty directly given by the then President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono in January 2007, exactly 10 years ago.

Together with these six great people, we were asked to evaluate Transport Safety and Security which at the time the whole world was highlighting Indonesia due to the happening of so many transportation accidents especially air transportation.

We are incorporated in a National Team of EKKT (Evaluation of Transport Safety and Security) as stated in Presidential Decree No. 3 of 2007.

In short, in less than three months, with these great people and great support from Ministry of Communications staff, we were able to complete the hard work.

The result is of course "very satisfying", because the team worked hard without any interest in addition to the task-oriented implementation.

In the preliminary report, one session before the final report of the task, read by the President and staff, that our results are indeed "valid" and "objective".

Birds spread that the concept of the evaluation report should be carried out by the Team itself. Several friends of ministers and former ministers, congratulated me as reminded to be ready when appointed later become Minister of Transportation.

Since retiring and receiving this assignment, I am not at all interested in sitting in ministerial posts.

That is why, when delivering the final report of the task, I as the Team Leader just opened a little and appealed to the President for further exposure can be implemented by Ir Jusman as the youngest member.

It is intended that, when the President with his staff's consideration instructs the final result to be carried out by the Team, the representative who will execute it is Ir Jusman and we will all volunteer to work behind the scenes support when needed.

Not long after that, one of the staff of the President asked for CV Ir Jusman through me. When I told Ir Jusman to get ready to become Minister of Transportation, he immediately replied, "No, sir, I with my friends prefer to work in support of your father only in the position of Minister of Transportation".

I explained firmly that I was too senior for the job, much better Ir Jusman is the younger one who is in that position and we will all support him.

Two weeks after that, I was having dinner with the former Minister of Transport and the phone rang.

I am sorry to receive a call, and it came from Mr. Jusman who said that he just received a call from the President.

I am very sure that he must be ordered not to say or report to anyone, because indeed the mechanism of appointment of state officials, then such a thing is already a standard procedure.

But Mr. Jusman keeps contacting me, as Team Leader, reporting sincerely, realizing that we are in a very solid team and built in the framework of mutual respect and mutual understanding and wrapped in a solid esprit de corps knit as a standard moral bond from the professional.
