분명 장점도 있는 '하드포크 19'

'하드포크 19'는 분명 나쁘지 않았습니다.

고래가 가졌던 힘을 많은 사람들이 나누어 가지게 되었고, 신규 진입자는 스팀에 더 매력을 느끼게 되었습니다.
신규 진입자가 느낄 투자 대비 만족이 크게 향상되었기 때문이죠.

'하드포크 19'이전에는, 신규 진입자가 투자한 성과를 얻으려면 매우 큰 자본이 필요했습니다.
그러나, 지금은 다릅니다.

어느 정도 선의 투자로 적당한 만족도를 누릴 수 있게 되었고, 신규 진입자는 큰 돈 걱정없이 Steemit을 즐길 수 있게 되었습니다.

이런 장점이 생겼지만, 안타깝게도 두 가지 문제가 발생했습니다.

두 가지 문제점

셀프보팅

하나는 셀프보팅의 효율도 급격히 증대화되었다는 것입니다.
셀프보팅에 대해 꼭 저는 나쁘게 보진 않습니다.
자신이 투자한 금액만큼, 이득을 얻어가겠다는 것이 꼭 나쁘다고 할 수는 없을 것입니다.

그러나 셀프보팅이 커뮤니티를 위축시키는데 일조한다는 것은 부인할 수 없습니다.

보팅 -> 커뮤니티 발전 -> 스팀잇의 가치상승 + 스팀의 가치상승 -> 보팅을 통한 수익분배량의 상승 -> 보팅 이라는 기존 Steemit 순환 성장 모델이 어려워지기 때문입니다.

현시점에서 단기적으로 볼때, 특별한 컨텐츠를 통해 타인의 Voting을 유도하기 어려운 사람들의 최선의 전략은 셀프보팅의 극대화입니다.

'하드포크19' 이전에도 물론 비슷한 상황이었지만, 고래들끼리만의 보팅으로는 Steemit의 발전이 어려웠습니다.
따라서고래들은 반 강제적으로 Steemit 발전에 힘써야 했습니다.
그래야 보유한 Steem의 가치가 크게 상승하기 때문이었습니다.
그러나, 지금은 적은 Steem을 보유한 사람도 셀프보팅을 통해 안정적으로 수입창출이 가능해졌습니다.

이들에게 Steem의 가치상승을 위해 Steemit의 발전을 위해 애쓰기를 기대하는 것은 쉽지 않습니다.
왜냐하면 적은 Steem만을 보유하고 있기 때문에, Steem의 가치상승에 따른 이익이 적기 때문이지요.

커뮤니티 축소

'하드포크19'의 두 번째 문제는 적은 수의 보팅이 가져온 커뮤니티의 축소입니다.
모바일 유저들은 상관없지만, 적은 스팀파워를 가진 PC유저들은 Voting할 때 비율을 지정하지 못 합니다.
이에 따라 적은 수의 Voting을 하면 Steemit에서 할 수 있는 것이라곤 댓글을 다는 것뿐입니다.

댓글을 다는 것이 Voting보다 글쓴이에게 만족감을 덜 준다고는 할 수 없습니다.
그러나, 댓글을 작성하는 것이 Voting보다 피곤한 것은 확실합니다.

글이 좋다고 생각했을때 클릭 한 번하면 되는 Voting과, 간략하게나마 소감을 써야하는 댓글의 피로감 차이는 큽니다.
이는 알게 모르게 커뮤니티 참여도를 낮추고 있다고 생각합니다.

하드포크19이전의 가장 큰 문제가 고래들끼리의 보팅이었다면, 하드포크19이후의 가장 큰 문제는 Steemit의 커뮤니티 기능 축소라고 생각합니다.

신규 진입자들은 Steemit 커뮤니티 활동에 굳이 열심일 필요가 없습니다.
Steem을 구매해서 셀프보팅 열심히 하고, Steemit을 이미지 서버 & 블로그 백업 서버 대신으로 사용하면 그만입니다.
서버비용도 아끼고, 투자에 따른 이익을 그대로 가져갈 수 있지요.

물론, 이 방법은 Steem 가격이 장기적으로 하락한다면 큰 손해가 되겠지만, 가격이 상승하면 큰 이익으로 다가올테니 투자라고 생각해봄직합니다.

사실, Steemit이 꼭 Steemit 커뮤니티만을 위해 존재할 이유는 없다고 생각합니다.
다른 SNS와도 연계가 활발히 되면, Steem의 유저층이 확대될 것입니다.
굳이 Steemit 커뮤니티 유저가 아니라고해도, Steemit 사용 유저가 늘어나면 Steem의 가치도 상승할 것이고요.

Steemit과 Steem이 앞으로 어떤 길을 가게 될지 기대됩니다.

The shrinkage of steemit community

The second problem with 'Hard Fork 19' is the shrinkage of steemit community brought by a small number of votes.
