A lot of americans go way out of their way to prepare for Independence Day. I've never seen or experienced any other countries go this to this extent.

There are a lot of food ideas, but mainly we all have a barbecue in front of a pool and go swimming. This barbecue is usually a potluck party where all the people that go to the party will bring one kind of food.

Usually there will be barbecued chicken, hot dogs and/or hamburgers. We all get to choose what we want to have. Don't forget the chips and coke! Also, there are lots of salads and desserts along with drinks.
