Hello Steemit community! What a great venue!
IMG_5107.JPG
I am here to meet like minded people and hopefully simply share some much hard earned wisdom so that others can hopefully avoid some of the mistakes I have made. Maybe I can help mentor and find a mentor or two myself.

About me. Hmmmmm. Native to California. Complicated. Contradictory. Thoughtful. Emotional. A bit of a bleeding heart---- Smart. Rule follower but status quo questioner. I am a professional. Ha! Professional what? Well, I work in sales and travel quite a bit, but feel more like a professional mom. 25 years experience and still learning. 6 total. Yeah, kids. I gave birth to 4 of them and have two fosters. so I have the stellar time management, household/people managment, budgeting skills, think on the fly resourcefulness that most people try and get an MBA for. Thank goodness we are way past the little kid stage. The youngest is 10. I am also a new dog owner and official dog (vs cat) person.

My commute is either down my stairs to my office or to the airport where I hop into a big metal tube and pop out somewhere else. I am a great cook (will share ideas.) My passions are WINE (I live in NorCal not too far from wine country), always learning about finance, wealth building, and parenting. Not a big fan of Western medicine/allopathic medicine but much bigger fan of Herbs and Homeopathy and I know quite a bit about midwifery.

If you are younger than 40, I am sure you can learn something from me. If you are older than 50, I want to learn from you---so be sure I can find you! If you are self-made entrepreneur, I am especially interested to learn about your journey. if you want to know about home birth or fostering children, I know a thing or two about that. I read mostly boring non-fiction because I am a lifelong learner. My knowledge of pop culture and trivia largely sucks...its a miracle I made it to this forum....likely before the majority of my friends. My sense of humor? Well, I can at least make myself laugh. No guarantees you will laugh, but I will try on occasion.

Always on the look out for good sushi and often in the random Western US cities I travel to for work. So if you live in San Diego, LA, Salt Lake City, Denver, Phoenix, Seattle, Portland, or ?? Give me a shout and maybe we can find a great foodie spot on Yelp. I always think, while on the road, that I should be able to find an app and swipe to meet another platonic person for dinner. Like blind dating for friends in random cities or small groups. It's such a small world and I like learning things and thinking about things--all the 'different strokes for different folks' kinda thing. Or maybe find a person to go salsa dancing with in the Gas Lamp. ----- so I am pretty random and hope you find something to enjoy.

HAPPY STEEMING!!

Hi @nattydred101 welcome to Steemit, sadly, or happily your profile matches quite a few others here. i.e. Complicated. Contradictory. Thoughtful. Emotional. A bit of a bleeding heart---- Smart. Rule follower but status quo questioner.

I think you'll fit in here.

Ha! True. I will be sure to be more specific next time. Or maybe you are just a kindred spirit. Love your handle. Would it help if I said I am smart, but not clever? I am not good at quick whips to rip the rug out from someone's confidence, not good at comebacks-- I like to think about what i put out there in the world. Becomes a great mirror, yes? That is why a forum like this is great.

Yeah, you're not doing a good job of trying to differential yourself from me, sorry. ;-)

I am a new steemer & I am loving it. Hope you will have a great time!
I will post #introduceyourself tonight

wawo.. you're so nice I sent you a tip too. Waiting for yours !!

Here's a shout out from Salt Lake City! Damn that dog is adorable! Six kids? Wow... I come from a family of six kids but can't imagine having six myself... It reminds me of one of Jim Gaffigan's jokes: "What's it like to have 4 kids? Well, imagine you're drowning.... and someone hands you a baby." And you have six! Haha... Well I'm new here to and I'm excited to see where this journey takes me. I'll follow you for sure. Cheers.

The oldest of 4, I said I would "never" have four kids. HA! Got pregnant at 18 so I got started young. I don't believe in putting a bunch of synthetic hormones in my body, so guess what? It happened again. Yes. Four was plenty, but with two off the payroll, its really back to 4 again in the home. Hectic, busy, but trying to appreciate the busy life. Too many lonely people in the world and for what? In my opinion, if you are lonely, start giving back-- volunteer. Become a CASA or find some purpose. We are social creatures---but its lots of work having kids, no doubt. Oddly, there is a certain satisfaction for doing fostering. I do feel like I am giving back to my community. Fostering is NOT for the lazy or faint of heart.

Hahaha, I love your response and your attitude :) And you are ABSOLUTELY giving back to the community! Best

I'm new here as well. I'm exactly 40, so I don't know what that means in terms of what I will learn from you lol. I would love to visit wine country someday. I am from Ohio. I followed you and I look forward to your stories!

Love Ohio. I was just in Columbus and trying to calculate how much earlier I could retire if I downsized just a bit and moved to Cleveland. Haha!

Columbus is so nice! I couldn't see living anywhere else but Ohio. I love it here.
