Life is stressful..... I make music that can help!
Greetings Steemians!
Please let me begin by saying what a pleasure and a privilege it is to be taking my first baby steps here on steemit. I am so excited to be able to contribute to a platform in which every member has a responsibility to do their best to make it a beautiful place to be. How cool is that?
So.... you are surely wondering, who is this dapper dude?
Well, my name is Craig and I live on a little mountain on a tiny island in the sea, off of the west coast of Canada. It is a truly lovely place, with reportedly the highest number of both artists and organic farms per capita in all of Canada, so as you can imagine, there are a lot of wonderful weirdos here ( I think I can safely include myself in this category)!
I am 41 years old and a musician and artist. I spent the last ten years building finely crafted wooden flutes for a living, and I was very fortunate to have clientele all over the world, and to have brought the joy of music to so many people. Here is an example of some of my work:
The one thing I did not expect when I started building instruments, was that I would have less and less time to pursue my great love: music! So in September 2017, I closed my business to have more time to focus on art and music making.
I am a multi instrumentalist, and my focus is on crafting healing and meditative music. My instrument collection is quite vast, and consists of many instruments from around the world. Here is a little sample of some of my favourites:
I have performed on many stages and discovered a particular joy in playing for yoga and dance classes. But my deep love is in the recording arts, and writing music to help people calm, relax, and even to sleep. (I might be one of the only musicians in the world that is happy to hear that i put people to sleep with my music!!!!)
Which brings me to my contribution to the steemit community. My goal is to share music with you through audio and video. I will post tracks from my albums, and each week share a long form soundscape to help with insomnia, relaxation, studying etc., as well as sharing videos of me playing live in some of the beautiful natural settings on my island. Plus I will throw in some words about creativity, books and herbalism and healthy food for good measure!
I hope you will follow me and I look forward to doing my part to bring some peace to your day and make a steemit a beautiful place to be!
With great gratitude
Craig
ps. I would like to send a big shoutout to @desertdwellers for telling me about steemit!!!

This gets my imagination going, it sounds like a little utopia. @ironshield
Thank you so much Ironshield! I am so glad you like my work! Our island is a wonderful place, it has its ups and downs like any community, but it is very very lovely!

A BIG WELCOME TO STEEMIT! Glad you are here gracing us with your music and creations...
LOL ^^^
Do you live on the same island as Toko-pa and did she make that little light sculpture? Had to ask as I love her writings/new book and know she makes those...
Taking part in contests or other collaborations is a great way to find likeminded people and build connections here. It's all about the web of connections. You may find this one interesting held by @cabelindsay... There is also steemit #openmic...
Looking forward to hearing some of your tunes! <3
PS, i'm resteeming your post to give your awesomeness more visibility!
Oh goodness, Thank you so much! I was so happy to find your post, as I have been flailing around steemit trying to find the artists and dreamers and then... ta daaa!
Now, I am going to bake your noodle a little bit here: Not only do Toko-pa and I live on the same island... but we live in the same house!!!! I am ridiculously, unreasonably blessed to call Toko my beloved partner in all things. I will pass on to her your warm appreciation for her work, she will be so pleased to hear it! Isn't she just amazing?!!! Wow, I can't believe you read her work, what a small world!
Thank you for the thoughts about the contests and open mic, I am definitely going to pursue that. And I just checked cabelindsay's offering... that is amazing!!!! Well, now I am excited!
Thank you so much for resteeming my post and for the very warm welcome! <3
:D
I think so many of us can relate to that in the early days!!
And ahhh I had a feeling you may be in partnership with her!! How amazing haha!! Yes please pass it on. Her book is by my bedside and is such a magical companion. Each time i open it, it carries the perfect resonance for the moment. That's rare in a book!
So glad you're on steemit. I watched some of your youtube vids and was very impressed by the healing sounds and skillful craftsmanship of the flutes. I especially was drawn to the Anasazi flute in C... Much love and look forward to seeing you around Steemit :D <3 ~wren
