In essence, the government of Indonesia is forcing people to become more actively involved in the country’s banking system by limiting their options.
I call bullshit.
Bitcoin is not the reason 2/3 of Indonesians don’t have a bank account. Banning Bitcoin will not force them into the banking system. They didn’t leave the system for Bitcoin. Before Bitcoin ther was the one option of central banks - and still 2/3 of the population either didn’t exercise that option or were excluded from it.
Education is key. Though especially in a country like Indonesia, a lot easier said than done...
