Another report mentioned this ;

This move definitely impacts the average person in Indonesia as almost two-thirds of the population do not have a bank account, and only about a fifth of the country’s poorest people have access to banking capital. In essence, the government of Indonesia is forcing people to become more actively involved in the country’s banking system by limiting their options.

Which is pretty solid given it's easy to have a bitcoin than a bank account. Therefore, to stop this movement the government is trying to impose the ban on Bitcoin and cryptocurrency. I foresee this coming since the usage of bitcoin debit card is blocked and several shops that accept bitcoin in Indonesia is closed. However, there are ways to still trade :) and several wallet are completely anonymous without having to provide any ID.

The only way is to educate people more about bitcoin and cryptocurrency although it's quite dificult to be honest since the stigma that has been thrown into public.

I call bullshit.

Bitcoin is not the reason 2/3 of Indonesians don’t have a bank account. Banning Bitcoin will not force them into the banking system. They didn’t leave the system for Bitcoin. Before Bitcoin ther was the one option of central banks - and still 2/3 of the population either didn’t exercise that option or were excluded from it.

Education is key. Though especially in a country like Indonesia, a lot easier said than done...

BTC is a Trojan horse!
Russia and India have warned their people. Now other BRIC nations are doing the same.
