ISDE World Congress of oesophageal disease in Edinburgh- Day2
Hello my dear Steemians,
Another day and I am very excited about the second day of our World Congress. Today is Monday that means that trains today on weekday travel early, so I could take train at 07:57 AM, that is very strange time but no matter important thing that the train comes in time and also that there is no delay.
It was a bit cloudy day today but it was dry and not cold, the train was not very busy and despite of having no reservation (this is a short distance, that is why normally there is no reservation but often it could be only 2 or 3 carriages but today there were 6 carriages.
I took a place at window and also with a table, just wanted to look through program again and to see what kind of lectures I can attend. There are always a big variety of different lectures, presentation of doctors of their abstracts but also we have lectures from sponsors who would like to present their new equipments and we will have a chance to try them.
After 50 minutes I arrived to Edinburgh station and from here then walking distance to the Exhibition centre where our congress is taking place. My first wish was to take a cup of coffee but unfortunately I was surprised that I was told that coffee time will be after the first break, it was a pity.
In the hall there were some new people who attending from today on so needed registration.
Luckily, one of the presentation started few minutes later and I then was distracted and of course, the time passed very quickly
One of the image of the lecture I wanted to share here, it is a president of the ISDE Congress where he hold encouraging words when the doctors and colleagues starting something and especially if that is related to Science, often it is lengthy and we give up when we do not get the results quicker. It was good to hear his story and also to see how much they invested in this organisation and how big it is now.
There is regular meet up and it is taking place every year in different countries:
for 2025 the next Congress is planned in Brisbane, Australia
for 2026 the Congress will take place in Kyoto, Japan
I think those ones are too expensive, currently we can not see prices but it will not be congress that I will be able to take part to.
So tomorrow is the last day of our Congress, hope will be more interesting topics.
