Hello steemians !
Today I'm sharing some self-portraits I've been working on lately.
It would seem that the first self-portrait dates from 1839, 2 years after the invention of the first camera!
Here is a first photographic selfie by Robert Cornelius:
It must of course be kept in mind that this is the first photographic self-portrait. Painters have always worked on self-portraits :
...and who knows if cavemen did not represent themselves in their moments of bravery to illustrate their most beautiful hunting scenes. Some theories also suggest that the sculptures of the first Venuses could be self-portraits of pregnant women:
Self-portraits have always had a cathartic function for the artist, a joke or even for the ego :)
I took the time this year to do a few self-portraits at complicated times, after bad news or just to work on myself and my thoughts.

That is very interesting, many visual art creators earlier or later work on self-portraits, it is interesting how the creative people do that it is, I like the way of surrealism or abstract. I wonder how AI will present self-portrait?
I like your experiments, we can see you but the same time we can't really see, that makes it interesting too.

I used to collect old Carte de visite from the 1800's - sadly so many of them are not named.
After 5 years on the platform I have recently launched a Steem witness - @pennsif.witness.
