SC-S24W2: Paisajes: Cityscape

It is my Sunday painting, again due to my work and this week I had my long shifts Tuesday till Friday I was not able to take time for painting earlier. Anyhow, today is the day and I spend it with trying to capture the buildings in nice weather. This image is of our local place called Dysart. I remember when I saw first time this little path between the houses I thought it has everything that we, people who love drawing have. It is nice architecture and also a lantern that is installed on wall. It is a little unusual for modern architecture. We do not see that very often. Still we have so many old buildings and houses that just asking to be captured.
For my work I decided to take watercolour because this way we have the beauty of little historical places and watercolour makes it more interesting.
I thought about just a pencil work but both sky and plants in pencil or in black and white is very boring. So I hope you also agree with me and find my experiment attractive.
For my painting I used watercolour paper of weight 300gsm and it was a rough paper. My watercolour paints I used different kind of there was “White night” but also another one was that I recently bought “Van Gogh”.I thought to do in wet in wet but because it is a new technique for me I thought to use wet in wet for sky but wet on dry for the rest. That went well at the end and I will try in the future to practice more wet in wet with mixing colours on paper that gives impressive effects. I hope you like my painting that I done today at the last day of challenge.

Simple sketch using pencil 2B

You can see that for sky I wet the whole paper that is why it is shining.

Light colours first as first layer.

This is the final result with my paints, brushes.

As I was asked about reference photo, I am attaching it here, it is my favourite fishermen village Dysart:

I would like to invite @m-fdo, @enamul17 and @artist1111 for this contest

¡Hola!

Thank you for your analyses of my painting and you are right initial first layer is always important adn it is good to make it transparent. I am still a bit careful with that and still try to leave it a little lighter than darker. Watercolour is a beautiful medium and I am still in the exploration time. Who knows what surprises are waiting for us.
Greetings @stef1, amazed by your artistic watercolor drawing, it is a beautiful technique and of course it is faster to apply than colors, I think you just have to wait a little for it to dry, I have never actually painted with it, but I would like to. But I honestly liked the result a lot 🙂, even though I drew it today and under the conditions that were presented to it, in my opinion the result is magnificent, it leaves 🐾🐾🐾 in our memories.
You did a great job by sharing it on your blogspot. I love the painting so much.
Thank you very much, it is indeed one of the interesting technique and usually requires a lot of practicing, there were many paintings that I have spoiled before. There are many tricks including good paper quality and of course, paints. I am really please to hear your nice comment!
Thank you Josh, Watercolour is one of the best medium for buildings and usually once a person had done few it becomes easier next time. I love it so still learning :)
Bendiciones
Thank you, yes, with watercolour the simple painting looks interesting you are absolutely right :)
I am pretty sure you will be very good in watercolour, you have a good feeling when you do your drawing but also you are very accurate. I hope one day you will be able to try it too :)
Saludos @stef1, muchas gracias por su amable consejo.
Creo que tengo que vencer el miedo 😨.
Saludos amigo
