RE: Contest | 25-Word Comment - Monkey Business | Birthday

I wonder why it became less important. With me it had to do with a lack of money (childen first) but that doesn't mean I like it to be always being pushed aside because of others. Same for other adults btw. In many cases I was "forgotten" because others celebrating the same day and were found more important.

I think in my case it's like with waiting for Santa. Some birthday magic disappeared and it's impossible to get it back.

Have you thought about celebrating this day in a different way? Ever asked yourself what you want for you? Santa didn't fulfil all wishes and if you know what you asked for or?
I never celebrated Christmas with presents but we have December 5th and we celebrate it till today and I like it more than birthdays although even with the smallest birthday gift we still have fun. It's just more complicated to celebrate on the day itself so we celebrate when we are together as well (if there isn't a party you can make up a reason to have one. There's no need to only celebrate once per year or?).

I think I am trying to celebrate each day, or at least each day when I don't have to work, so I believe I simply don't need birthday as an excuse to do something for myself. It does not always work out, not always there is an opportunity or financial possibilities to do what I want to do, but special days happen more than once per year for me.
