#proposal-86 Review
In my original proposal, I expected my time to be predominantly spent writing / updating CSS and a small amount of JavaScript to support this. My expectation, was that my work would be ~80% CSS.
This quickly changed when working on the 1st deliverable - updating the navigation. It became clear that the community expected more significant changes, rather than light touch and so the work became more involved. It wouldn't be an underestimate to say that the work ended up being at least 95% JavaScript with a touch of CSS.
One of the key things that I expected to deliver was an updated view when browsing content - the idea of the 'grid view'. The foundation of this was the improved navigation and whilst this is still on the to-do list, more fundamental User Experience improvements were prioritised. E.g. the usability of communities when Admins and Moderators pin dozens of posts.
All of my updates are available in this post.
#proposal-89
I'm assuming that this proposal will be #87 since no other proposals appear to have been submitted since mine.
As vague as this will sound, I'd simply like to continue my work improving the steemit.com interface and features.
Currently on my mind are:
- Build upon the /tags functionality and implement a Tag Cloud on the 'Explore' Page
- Implement a 'Grid View' where posts are viewed
- Improve how 'Notifications' are displayed
- Implement more prominent 'Author Details' when viewing a post
- Related to '1' and '4', implement contextual information / links across the site
- Imrpove the 'New User' experience
- Implement Ukranian language
- Fix more bugs.
The original addendum still applies.
I'd also like to get more hands-on with Hivemind which would open up more possibilities.
Finances
The Steem Dollar has had an interesting 12 months and I've delayed writing this post, hoping that I'd get an indication of where SBD will settle.
Whilst I'm hopeful that it'll be trading to nearer $1 over the next 12 months, it's been trading at around its current point ($0.65) for a while now. There's also some uncertainty around HTX which has currently suspended deposits.
This puts me in an interesting situation where I'm optimistic but also need to be cautious and so all calculations are based upon the mid-point of $0.65 and $1 - $0.83 (I rounded it up because the DAO paid 1.248 SBD instead of 1.25 SBD for some reason).
I'm once again proposing that I'll do 2 days per week (@ £250 per day = £500 per week). Based upon current exchange rates, £500 = $631 = 760 SBD per week => 109 SBD per day.
It's worth noting that in September, the-3yo-gorilla will start school which gives me 5 days per week if I'm lagging behind or feel that I'm not delivering to the level I expect of myself.

You definitely have my support! I also think the amounts are justified. You've already changed a lot of things and fixed a few bugs. Lots has been done on the frontend and there is still much to do. It's not something that can be done on the side and needs financial support.
Many of us use the familiar interface of steemit.com. Even if there are now alternatives, we should not leave steemit.com behind. That's why I think it's all the more important that someone looks at the mothership and implements improvements.
0.00 SBD,
2.15 STEEM,
2.15 SP
This answer is another 3 more points for NO team... since I absolutely agree... 😎
How about an update that includes badges for Top Author, Most Voted, Comment Receiver Post of the Day?
You have my full support; the work you’ve done is truly impressive. I appreciate your dedication and hope you can continue, with everyone's support for your proposal.
Great, my vote is not gonna give any bug impact 😕 still ia will vote. I hope the SBD will rise again. I think i was lucky that i converted it a few days ago before the delisting happen.
Thanks.
Done ✅
I believe that work on improving the interface should never stop. There is always something to fix and something to improve. steemit.com remains the leading interface used by the most people. And, of course, I am especially interested in point 7 😀.
