I Can't Think Of............ NW Cascade Wanderings

…..a title for my post! I’m drawing a blank so this post has no title!

My pictures today are from yesterday’s birthday jaunt at the bay. However, it’s now Tuesday, so onwards with today’s activities.

My day began with ladies Bible study. We had a full house today. It was a good study in Mark, chapter 6.

On the way home, I stopped to pick up the clinic mail. There was quite a bit of it! Once home, I did some laundry and started the dishwasher. I read for just a little while and then we met up with Jan and set out to the off grid cabin. By then, the sunshine had disappeared and a breeze was starting to pick up. They are saying we’re in for a wind storm with winds out of the southeast at 25-35 MPH and gusts up to 60 MPH! Should make for an interesting evening and night! We are prepared with plenty of propane and gas for the generator. Getting ready for work in the morning could be interesting! 🌬️

Here’s more pics from the bay. Enjoy!

Trains run parallel to the park and we are often lucky enough to have them pass when we are there. This train was pulled by 3 diesel engines and a slave engine. For those who don’t know what that is, it’s an engine coupled with a lead engine. The slave has no area in it for the engineer.

The third engine was headed backwards to help ‘push’ the train.

Our son used to work for BNSF, but they closed the hub where he worked down and he pursued a job with the city he lives near.

The tide was high yesterday; higher than I’ve ever seen it. These steps were actually under water. Usually, you can go down these to a little sandy beach!

A trolling boat…..

A low cloud bank around one of the San Juan Islands.

We were in the right place at the right time. I’ve never seen a seal in the wild until yesterday.

The last shot for the day……

Tomorrow sees me heading to work for a ‘me, myself and I’ day. Here’s to hoping I get a lot of projects done!

That’s it for now. Take care and have a blessed evening! 🙏🌎🙏

For we know that when this earthly tent we live in is taken down (that is, when we die and leave this earthly body), we will have a house in heaven, an eternal body made for us by God himself and not by human hands.
