"Learning challenge s23w5: "I Love My Body /Sit-up/Reverse Crunch ".
Hello fitness enthusiast! We've reached Week 5 of the Steemit Learning Challenge, season 23, and I'm happy to be participating. This week's focus is on strengthening our core with two effective exercises, sit-ups and reverse crunches. After carefully reviewing the lesson post, I'm excited to share my homework task below.....
Sit-up

This week's program included the sit-up exercise, which is a highly effective movement that targets the abdominal muscles. While sit-ups may appear simple and easy, they can be quite challenging and impactful when executed correctly. To perform a sit-up, below are the following steps to follow:
Start by laying your back flat on the floor, bend your knees slightly and balance your foot on the floor.
Place your hands behind your head or neck to gain balance.
While on the lying position, pull your upper body up to a sitting position and touch your knee.
Return back to the starting position, and continue the repetitions required from you.
Most people feel discomfort in different part of their body after executing this program. Why? Because they're not getting it right. Mastering the proper technique is very important to getting the most out of this exercise and minimizing the risk of injury.
Reverse Crunches

Another effective exercise targeting the abdominal muscles is the reverse crunch. This movement involves a two-part motion, swinging forward and backward, and this exercise requires proper attention and stamina to execute it properly. To perform the reverse crunch correctly, below are the steps to follow:
Start by lying with your back flat on the floor or yoga mat to avoid injury on the back.
Let your neck and shoulder relax while placing your palms beside your ribs.
Slowly bend your knee to 90° while putting them together.
Carry the two joined legs from the floor towards your chest level, still maintaining the 90° position.
Return back slowly, as if you want your foot to touch the floor, but it doesn't. Instead in midair, and you return back to your chest level.
By mastering the correct technique, you'll be able to engage your core muscles effectively and minimize the risk of injury.
Before starting my program, I did a 5 minutes warm-up and below is the format I followed to perform my demonstration video.....
Programs | no. Of reps | Rest | no. Of reps | rest | no. Of reps |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Reverse Crunch | 10 reps | 10 seconds | 10 reps | 10 seconds | 10 reps |
Situp | 7 reps | 10 seconds. | 7 reps | 10 seconds. | 7 reps |
Which of these programs is the most difficult for you and what exactly makes it difficult. How did you overcome the difficulty.
I found the reverse crunch to be the most difficult exercise for me, and what made it particularly difficult was following the task's instructions to execute the movement slowly. As I lowered my joined legs down and then brought them back up to chest level, I truly felt the impact of the exercise. The slow and steady pace allowed me to engage my core muscles more effectively, maximizing the benefits of the movement.
I overcome the difficulty knowing fully well that the exercise is of my own benefit. Also, when I remembered that there's no gain without pain, I continue with my movement till I completed the required repetitions despite the difficulties. After recovering from the pains, I did some stretching routine and concluded.
What is your overall feelings at the end of these programs?
I was tired and sweating. My overall feelings was great, because I was happy completing the given abs attack exercises. After the program, I felt some kind of pains on my lower region, but despite the pains, I felt a sense of pride and satisfaction knowing that the exercise was having a tangible impact on my body.

As the saying goes, "no gain without pain". Embracing this mindset, I recognized that the temporary discomfort was a sign of progress and growth. Even after the challenge is over, I'll keep on doing these exercises to make myself better because I love my body.
I'm happy to participate in this week's learning challenge, I'm looking forward to joining next week's class. Thanks coaches @ngoenyi and @genomil.
