A portrait of myself

~Record a 1-2 minute video showing your unique talent

What talent or skill are you showing us today? Explain

The talent I have portrayed here is Drawing. A more formal term as portrait making.
Drawing or portrait making is like creating memories of a moment or a person's essence on paper or canvas.

To be a great artist, you need these tips;

Observation
Artists study the subject's features, expressions, and proportions. Without a good observation skill, you can't create a realistic portrait. Say you're trying to make a replica of something on paper.

Lines and shapes
Artists use lines, curves, and shapes a lot to create a portrait. This is the skill we use to print our observations on paper before beginning.

Shading and texture
After a little sketch , adding shadows and textures gives depth and realism to the portrait. Take for example you want to make a realistic portrait, you'll need to shade, and add detailing to every bit of the drawing.

Capturing expression
If it's a living being, like animals and humans, observation plays out here again. To pay attention to the eyes, the mouth and overall expression of the being. Changing these can also change the results.

In this piece I made, I've tried to show both abstract and Realistic in on art.

Styles of Portrait Making

Realistic Which focuses on accurately depicting a person or subject.
Abstract or stylized
This doesn't focus on creating the exact art. Artists can chose to go beyond nature and creat something out if this world.

How did you discover you could do this?

Back when I was in Nursery school, whenever we were given an assignment to draw or colour, I always did mine awesomely well. My mom use to draw back then, and She'll teach me some trick to drawing simple objects like fish, car cup, table and so on.
I learnt very fast , and as time went on , I was doing my assignments by my self. And I would always get the best score out of every drawing assignments in school. Till I got to secondary school, it was the same.
It got to a point that people thought I was going to study fine art in the University. But as Life's choice could have it,
I study Engineering Today. And we do a lot of Engineers Drawing there's too. You can't run away from your calling completely. Something must always pull in back.😂

How often do you use this talent in real life?

Countless times I would say, I've used portrait in numerous ways which includes;

Story telling:
I use portrait to tell stories. If I have a lot to say, I can just put it in portraits and present it. For example, you can make a portrait of a lady just to tell her how much you love her.
You can even make a mockery portrait as well. Which do sometimes.😂

Decor and gift; I use portrait to wish my friend "Happy Birthday" . And I get the best reactions from them. It's always a thing of joy to feel how a person can take our time to make a portrait of someone. It means there special to them.
I try my best to make my friends feel special through my art.
I also use art to decorate our living room back home. It's a beautiful thing to behold.

Earnings
Most importantly, a little token in appreciation for my passion.
I use portrait to earn online tokens like steem, most especially 😂
I've gotten help to mint on of my arts as NFT. You might buy it soon.

Collaboration
Writers, graphic designers have collaborated with me because if my art. I've granted permission to a writers to use my work and write. Graphics designers as well. And in appreciation, I get something tangible. You know right?😂😏

What would you do with this skill if the whole world noticed it?

Make my Dreams Possible
This is when dreams become possibilities.
I wouldn't hastate to showcase it to the world more often than usual.
I would collaborate with big brands , celebrities and influencers for big projects. E go loud oo😂

Be an inspiration to others
I would also inspire others, when you're successfull in an area of life. Your major aim and responsibility is to inspire and encourage othe to even do more than you. And your legacy will live on, even if you're no more.

I'll like to invite @saviour-moses @promisezella and @sampson01 to join the contest.

I think it's a good tutorial in essence. I think some weaknesses you could improve are: adding sound, whether voice-over or directly recorded. Also, adding music might help us want to stay until the end of the video.
Nice drawing.
