The Diary Game || 3-09-25 || Attending the Induction of My 3 Friends as Pharmacist [Best Graduating Students]

On the 3rd of September, I decided to dedicate my time to celebrating academic excellence. It was the induction of pharmacists in the university. My three female friends who were my reading partners during my inception in the four walls of tertiary institutions were about to be inducted as pharmacists, as that's the discipline they studied for 6 years in school.

It was a day full of surprises because these girls literally taught me a lot about life and chasing your dreams. Let me tell you how my day went first before sharing a striking moment with you, a moment that may have affected you also.

Preparing to attend the grand induction

Waking up from the comfort of my bed after watching Wednesday Season 2 was one comforting thing I found. I did my chores after considering the scriptures with my family. One thing I learnt from the scriptures read was a biblical example called Joseph in Jesus' day. He was given instructions, and he followed them.

These divine instructions he followed helped him manage his family and gave them that happiness they deserve. This is a lesson to family heads. Following biblical guidance on how fathers should treat their children and wives can help prevent their family from crashing or becoming one big unhappy family.

I had my breakfast and was on check to avoid going there late. 9 am was when the procession was slated to start, and I was expected to be there to cover them. Unfortunately, rain gave me reasons to take a bold step. It rained cats and dogs, preventing me from attending the event. I knew it would be impossible for the procession to start by 9 am, as it wasn't just raining in my area. It did rain in the induction venue.

When the rain gave me reasons to rush to the venue, I took to my heels, as I didn't want any further disappointment. It's better I wait for the procession to start than for the procession to start without being there to capture the moment.

Commencement of the Induction

On arrival, the procession started in 5 minutes, and I had the opportunity of covering the inductees. I was glad to see my three friends who all answer to biblical names.

The MC acknowledged some dignitaries in the school and beyond. These dignitaries included the vice chancellor himself, lecturers in the faculty of pharmacy, professors from other institutions in that department, the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria management, the dean and the assistant to the vice chancellor.

It was an honour to see these dignitaries. They were seated in the front rows of one of the biggest halls in my institution. My friends were very happy to see me as I came to honour and add colour to their day. I gave them personal portraits before the event started.

The event eventually commences in earnest with all 110 inductees rising to their feet to sing the Nigerian anthem and that of the school. A welcome speech was given by the chairman and the dean of pharmacy. The lecturers who lectured these pharmacists were given full recognition. It was time for them to receive their pharmacy licence, and before doing that, they took an oath as pharmacists. This gave me goosebumps.

Recognizing Excellent Scholars

After the issuance of the licence, they moved to the next item, which was the award presentation. The best graduating student was first honour in a different light. Oh my God. You needed to see the reaction of his parents. They shed tears and rolled on the ground. I was moved to shed these tears. The whole hall was in this mood.

Tears of joy flowed like a network. He got over 15 awards for being the best graduating student in 13 departments in the pharmaceutical faculty. Like, how? I was moved to remember my past, when I started school as a fresher.

My female friends weren't left behind. Both of them were given the best female graduating student award. It was as if they were tied to the position. They received the following awards for being the unbeatable girls in the faculty. I was so happy for them. Abigail and Mary got this award.

  • 300k which is 1530 steems

  • A certificate for excellence

  • A silver plaque and handshakes from dignitaries

It's only determination that can take you this far. The faculty had 13 first classes, of which my three friends were among these people. They made me say, 'What a man can do, a woman can do better.' They had 10 first-class female indictees and 3 first-class male inductees. I captured all these moments.

Listening to the Valedictory Speech of the best graduating student

I think you'll have to listen to this yourself. His speech made me cry that one has to be determined and must prove by action if he wants to go far. My friend said they got their phones stolen at night class because they wanted to burn the night and become excellent students. They even fell off from the uncomfortable bench they slept on, just because they wanted the best and wanted to have parents to make proud.

I literally shed tears because his speech was touching. Just go through the video. Everything in life is determination. If you want to be a successful Steemian, you must be determined.

The event ended with joy, and I got the opportunity of sharing how I felt with my friends. I gave them all the pictorial memories they would need later. It didn't waste a second attending this event. I learnt from every word and action. In no time, I left for my dad's shop to assist him with weaving clothes before ending my day at home.

My challenges, how I managed my day and observations

I observed that attending events usually takes me off balance from my planned activities, but at least I accomplished three things that day, which are attending the induction ceremony, assisting my dad in his shop and creating a post on how to write a perfect diary game post, which would assist newbies in improving the quality of their posts. I had no challenge going about my day except the network issues I usually have at night.

One secret about managing your time is avoiding procrastinating. Don't say I'll do this. You'll not do it in time. You must be disciplined so as not to waste your day doing nothing. I couldn't go online that day because of the event, but I maximised my evening activities for that to make my day a fulfilled one.

I slept on the movie called WEDNESDAY on Wednesday night. If you haven't watched the movie, you can download it here. 👇🏽👇🏽

It is good to take studies seriously while in school because the first happiness is this first stage of celebration.
