Free healthcare for underprivileged residents is a tangible manifestation of the village government's commitment to the community. In my village, Gampong Blang, this initiative is realized through the Kemilau Integrated Health Service (Posyandu) held monthly at the village hall. The presence of this Posyandu provides new hope for residents, especially those with limited financial resources, to access adequate healthcare.

Every time an activity takes place, the village hall becomes bustling with people. Mothers bring their toddlers for immunizations, weight checks, and growth and nutrition checks. The elderly also come for health checks such as blood pressure and blood sugar checks, as well as simple consultations regarding their daily physical conditions. All these services are provided free of charge to residents.

Furthermore, the integrated health post (Posyandu) also serves as a health education platform. Cadres from the Posyandu and medical staff from the community health center (Puskesmas) provide counseling on healthy eating habits, the importance of maintaining environmental cleanliness, and how to care for the health of pregnant women and babies. This education is highly beneficial because it builds community understanding of how to prevent disease early. It goes beyond treatment, emphasizing prevention efforts and self-care at home.

For underprivileged communities, this program truly eases their burden. Visiting a clinic or hospital can be quite expensive, from transportation to purchasing medication. With this free healthcare service, they can access healthcare without worrying about costs. Furthermore, the integrated health post (Posyandu) activities also strengthen social ties among residents. They meet, socialize, and share experiences in caring for their families.

Programs like this demonstrate that public health care doesn't always have to be large-scale. In fact, through simple, routine activities like monthly community health posts (Posyandu), the impact can be felt directly by residents. Children grow healthier, mothers feel more at ease caring for their children, and seniors feel cared for in their old age.

With a spirit of mutual cooperation and social awareness, the Kemilau Integrated Health Post (Posyandu) in our village, Gampong Blang, is living proof that health is everyone's right. This initiative must be maintained, developed, and even enhanced to further its benefits and improve the lives of all our villagers.
